This was in the local paper today. Did this really happen last night? (sorry for the Bing translation and the word shot may not be actually any shooting so don't take it the wrong way)

To sliding stairs to the interior of the hotel "Temptation", this Saturday evening the U.S. origin, Jery Dale, of 70-year-old tourist, was killed.
Foreign body was taken to the forensic medical service (Semefo) for necropsy of law, where it will remain to be claimed.
The incident took place around 05:30 o'clock this Saturday when the different security agencies received an alert of the emergency 066 number to verify the report of an injured person to the interior of the hotel "Temptation", located in the hotel zone 3.5 km.
Immediately, police and paramedics of the Mexican Red Cross moved to the place, where upon arrival they found a shot near the stairs, same subject that already not presented vital signs, so it gave notice to the appropriate authorities.
Later, to the place they arrived elements of the State Judicial Police (PJE), agents of the Public Ministry of the common jurisdiction and expert criminologists, who gave witness of the incident.
Instead, the Manager of the hotel informed them that the now deceased responded to the name of Jery Dale, of 70-year-old, originally from California, United States, same that was hosted in the room 5312.
On the facts, they pointed out that the subject slipped on a staircase in the courtyard known as module 3 on the ground floor and fell on his back, so do not know what could cause death.
Before the statements, the authorities proceeded to conduct the corresponding investigations in place to then move the body to the Semefo for necropsy of law.

That's terrible :( I think things like this happen much more then we know about...last October a few people with my group saw a stretcher with what appeared to be a covered body on it.

We do not know what may have happened but can confirm that as we were leaving at 5:30pm yesterday an ambulance and police vehicles were arriving at the resort. Our condolences to any family if this is indeed what has occurred.

    Our condolences to the family and we hope there was no foul play involved. That being said as an older gentleman, I can think of no better way to go than after a night of partying with friends at TTR. R.I.P. my fellow addict );
