Very sorry to say I can't see us going back to cancun In the near future. We always go in Feb cos it's my birthday and it was a good winter break but the last two years the weather has been changeable, this year we had first three days great weather then a whole week of cloudy windy and cool weather, we got soaked at patyos on the Thursday night and although we stayed away from aircon we still both got bronchitis...I ended up wearing all the warmest clothes I had and had to cancel on Steves Boobs Cruise completely.absolutely gutted,we upgraded to a jacuzzi suite and only used it once, the last three days was sunny but I've never known it so windy,in the shade I was really cold.so we will be off to goa next year where it's 30 /sun constantly.have friended Luis from water sports in Facebook so hope he keeps in touch and we are in t ouch with jannet and Steve also. It's absolutely gutting but I can't have bronchitis every time we go .....two years ago it was 35 all the time we were there.so adios for now guys:england:

Sorry to hear that. We did feb in 2010 and 2011 and won't be back that time of year solely due to the weather. People are great but the party just isn't the same when people don't want to be in the water socializing due to it being too cold or depart the sexy pool at 4 bc it is too cold.

Try April or May or October. Much warmer. This year we are doing the other extreme, August, but we like it hot!

I feel you on the respiratory thing , had it 3 times in a row, once so bad we never went out at night. Been spraying the whole room with Lysol, made a bib difference in subsequent trips.

The Jac-room have the biggest mold problems, so that doesn't help your cause :(

we had a similar trip in January a few years back , and have since switched to the April Addict group, and have never gone back from NOV to March.

    hope you get better soon.

if you most travel in Jan on a reasonable Budget , I suggest Punta Cana in DR

Thanks guys, really appreciate your thoughts ,it makes me feel old when people don't seem to notice the cool weather! When I get a bit richer and I intend to do so,I will definately come back in April ish...for the meantime it will be goa...I am also gutted to find out that I ditched goa this year due to the raise in visa price only to find out that they have created an e visa after I had booked Mexico for less than half the price...grrrr. It will be an educational change for my partner...he's never been but I was there for my thirtieth. Appreciate the thoughts very much guys...I wish I could, change the weather!

It's funny that we see this thread started. We just came back a few weeks ago and agreed that we will not be visiting TTR again in late Jan./early Feb. Two years in a row now the weather has been inconsistent. So looks like our future trips will be Oct and then April. Looks like there are some great groups for both those months so it should be fun!

Good to see we're not alone in our thinking! I'll tell u a funny story ,luis from watersport said the week we were there he discovered he had heating in his car! We howled! He said it was 12 degrees so he turned the dial to the red to see what happened and hey presto there was warm air! He said he's never had to use it before! The other tho g was the wind,we couldn't sail or canoe because of it.
The problem I have in going later is that we can go to Spain or tenerife for a week, have booked a week in June a d its nice and hot and only two hours away.

Yeah, we don't go to ski resorts in the middle of summer, and I can't imagine we would want to go to a beach resort in the middle of winter. But it doesn't have to be Adios Cancun, as there are like 11 other months to choose from.
