So true, we've looked at the weather down there from home and have seen rain and more rain listed, sure enough we got rain everyday.... lasted for a grand total of 15 minutes each day but the way you read it on the weather sites you'd be thinking of cancelling your trip. So glad someone posted the link to a camera so I can check the weather. Oh and has anyone heard how the "CONSTRUCTION" is going it's been 2 weeks since the last update

Be careful with the summer/fall trips. I was told on my January trip that the Resort will be closing!!!!
They will be renovating different areas and hiring more staff. This came from one of the Premier Bartenders Enyou and a few others. The rooms are for showcasing to new members only. They are not for rent I heard.
I have heard about construction for at least 2 years, and the resort closing. Nothing soo far...book your trip and have fun!!!!

I think money talks and closing the Resort is expensive in lost revenue let alone construction costs. Piece meal renovations/building makes the most sense to me. They have already done some work so they aren't going to tear down and rebuild everything. The continuing revenue stream means they can finance the cost of renovation with earnings forward (using the earning from present customers to finance the present and on going work) is my guess.

I am more worried that after the construction is complete the cost will increase and become unaffordable for regular Temptation customers. A rebrand would than take place to attract a more upscale market segment. Bye Bye topless and sex in the pool and welcome the kiddies and vanilla people. :(

I don't know about that...what kind of holy hell would all of the premier members raise? Plus how many resorts have such a dedicated following of repeaters to the same place?

I'm not sure they can raise the price too much and keep people coming back to that location. They'll have a hard time attracting new customers who have no ideal of what Temptations is.

There is hotels through out the hotel zone that are in a better location, newer, and overall nicer resorts for similar money to Temptations. They just don't have the atmosphere of Temptations. What that is worth to someone is each there own. Plus you have the whole Riviera Maya to compete with and every resort that pops up down there is light years beyond what they could ever do with Temptations.

I'm excited to see what they do as most of the renovations they've done through the years has always been great for the guest.

I agree about the prices going up. My cost keeps going up every year. Soon it will be unaffordable. I thought thats why we bought in, to keep our membership cost down.

Could not agree more. We come to Temptations for the people, the atmosphere and the vibe. Period. If that changes, we will not be back. There are plenty of other resorts more beautifully situated, with better food, booze, etc. Hopefully, the owners realize the oh-so-perfect niche they have carved and don't try to jump the shark.

Trying to turn TTR into another me-too, kid friendly, vanilla type resort would not work at TTR. They simply haven't got the beach or location for it, and no amount of restoration will ever change that. Trying to jump into that already over-served market would be a losing battle. There are just too many resorts already in that game, and practically all have better location, all fighting for the same customer. What would TTR have to offer? Likewise, trying to bump up the price much and they risk having one of the other resorts with better location and facilities but fighting for the family customer now decide to offer the topless party atmosphere TTR does instead. The incoming resort would only have one competitor then, and they would almost certainly have the upper hand over TTR in location and amenities. Like it or not, TTR is in a bit of a pickle. They've probably found the only niche market that works in their location, but they don't have the location or facilities to change their customer base, or the ability to demand a big price increase without risking that same niche market to a resort that offers the things they can't.
