The prices have gone up since last April! I booked for this coming April, when I got back from TTR in September of last year, and it was US$500 more than last April. I really do hate to hear that you guys aren't going to be coming back after April.. I hope to get to see you guys at least one or two days in April! I travel several times a year, I go to Jamaica and to Mexico. Traveling as a single man, I only have two choices of my kind of place to stay, TTR in Mexico or Hedo when I am in Jamaica, as I have heard that Desire frowns upon single male travelers :( Maybe i'll find my Canadian beauty, and go to Desire with her one day :) " They say a great Canadian woman can turn a frown upside down :)" All jokes aside, I really do hope that you guys do come back at some time, who knows maybe the prices will come down! Thanks for your friendship.. AJ

Sorry to hear that guys, but if the pricing stays high, you won't be alone. Dollar is killing us!!! We'll just have to make this April epic!!!!!

I'm sure it's not so much the prices going up more the Canadian Dollar going down against USD. The Peso has also suffered just as much devaluation. Now at 18.5 pesos to the USD.

That's why we became members so the cost would be mostly locked in. Knew the pricing could not stay as low as it sometimes was for everything we got. So far it's worked out well.

Locked in or not for Canadisns, it's still the Canadian dollar not the cost of the night. Lets say you get a rate of $150 a night, that's $220 Canadian. It has nothing to do with buying a membership, which lets talk about the cost of that....let's say you choose one valued at $7000 USD as a Canadian we are paying $11000 for that same membership. Canadians are gonna have a rough time until our dollar picks back up again and it looks like it's not supposed to change much more then a couple of cents in the next 18 months.

You're spot on! It has very little to do with the resort!

True to some point,, but the AI fee is in US dollars ( not protecting the CDN rate which was the object of the OP ), and you were not immune from the hotel tax increase.

Also rates increase the the Mexican rate of inflation ,, so their not locked 100%

BUT,,,,,, still a good deal for US citizens at this point .
