Alfredo actually had to wake our cabbie up from a morning siesta in his cab! looked like he had had a really rough night, and he drove that way too/
Notice you hadn't posted why you wanted the taxi in the first place. If it's to get to the resort from the airport it's best take a Transfer from USATransfer unless they raised the rate think it's $55 return for 2 people. If you want to go to Market 28 or the Walmart you can catch the bus out the front of the resort the staff will tell you which one to grab and yes it's roughly $4 US round trip for two. If you want to catch a ride to the clubs may want to get a taxi again can be found out the front or as others have posted the staff will be glad to organize that for you. Which is helpful if your Spanish is limited like mine to Dos Cervases Por favor, followed closely by mucho gracias, so having someone tell the driver where you'd like to go, if you'd like him to hang about to drive you back or meet you at a certain spot to bring you back to the resort is nice. I'm sure taxi drivers are the same in Mexico as they are here at home if they know they have a guaranteed fare they'll be there. Oh one other thing and someone can please correct me if I'm wrong for whatever reason I don't think the taxi drivers are allowed to pick up fares at the airport, think they all have to wait outside of it.
We always walk 1/2 a block from Hotel and hail a cab on the street, when ever we are heading somewhere off the R1 or R2 bus route. Save 20% almost every time. Just have to allow enuff time to wait for a passing empty taxi.
Ohhh I don't know....maybe bcuz a person gets tired of hearing Bruno Mars for third time in a day and Pitbull 5 times on same day and YMCA every night. Having spent over 180 nights at TTR lifetime, the music gets tough to take. We always hit a kick ass rock Bar or 2 in the City each trip, to keep sanity and balance from the bubble gum pop of TTR. Luv being the only gringos in a metal bar off the beaten path, and having the music be the bond between patrons. Way different than a night at PatyOs and culturally fulfilling. So ya, there is reason to leave some nights
ya we gotta get out of there for a night or 2 also.. the Clubs, bars, Stripclub, Isla. Gets way to repetitive in PatyO's. Its fun coming back late late and still seeing a few people going strong
Ya those early morning returns to PatyOs are always interesting and worth a nightcap at 3 or 4am. See some surreal scenes at that time after a night off campus.
Just make reservations with USA Transfers & pay the driver, no hassles, no waiting, and I think it's still $55 for the round trip, they will be waiting when you get ready to go back home! Do it through the website here-
