We are wanting to go to Temptations but have heard from several people the food is not very good at all. We are not food snobs or anything and have been to Desire and Desire Pearl and thought the food was just fine. Can anyone who has been to Temptations and one of the Desires let us know how the food compares
We, like most people, like good food but are not critics. TTR has good food. No issues in that regard at all.
We have not been to both. Simply Temptations, however we have been to resorts all over Mexico and Latin America and have found that the food is not on par with the other resorts, however the food not being as fantastic tasting as other more high end resorts is not the reason that we keep coming back to Temptations. The atmosphere, the fantastic staff, and the easy going nature of the people who come to Temptations is what draws us in. If you are concerned about not being able to eat anything cause you feel maybe you won't be able to find anything to eat, that simply won't be the case. The food is food, won't blow your mind but its fine to eat. If your vacation revolves around your pallet as a main component then maybe this is one to avoid. hope that helps. Sorry if it didn't. Not sure what it is you're looking for food wise. Will you be able to find something to eat here yes I've never had a bad meal there but then again I'm not that fussy either as a matter of fact only the missus has had a bad experience. But that was one meal, out of all the times we've been so that's not a bad average. I've found most resorts cater to a blander pallet. When we went to Jamaica we had to ask the chef for the jerk chicken they'd serve to the staff in order to get the good stuff. For example the enchilada's here they have one pronounce row hoe and verde which is basically red sauce and green sauce ones supposed to be hotter than the other but for the guests both are the same. Both taste good just not the authentic dish as if you were at someone's house.
first off Desire is double the price so I hope the food is a lot better. That said I am a seasoned traveler, and frequent TTR visitor (10) ( background) The food at TTR has varied from trip to trip, sometimes great sometimes just OK. It has never been ''bad'' except for the buffet last OCT. ( Breakfast was good,, lunch and supper NOT ) but we just went to the restaurants and were never disappointed . The food was above par for the price point of the hotel,, but recent increases in their rates , will raise my expectations for the buffet . Enjoy
We've been to a number of resorts through the Caribbean and have to say that the food isn't bad, but it is not on par with the other resorts. But those other places do charge twice as much. The buffet is good at breakfast so-so lunch and dinner. We usually do the restaurants for lunch and dinner and the food is much better there. In any case, TTR is the best party for the price.
Never really had a bad meal there. Never had a phenominal one either. We're usually in a hurry to eat so we can get back to the fun. Last October we had a late dinner at the Italian restaurant on Halloween night. The food and service were both excellent, but we couldn't enjoy the meal for thinking about the fun we were missing at Patty O's. We rushed the waiter who was attempting to allow us to have a very nice leisurely dinner. I actually felt bad for him in that we were acting like we were at a fast food joint. Sam gave him a nice tip and apologized that we rushed him so! We almost ran back to the room to change and got to Paty O's about 11.
Never had any problem finding something good to eat between the restaurants and buffet and I don't think u can beat the good old late night cheeseburger at patyo's
I will start by saying that we are not ones to take an hour to sit and eat multiple courses. I'm usually still a bit buzzed and I don't want to miss any fun. In three trips, I think we may have eaten at the Italian restaurant twice and we've never been to the others. We usually do supper at Margaritas. Its quick and I've never had a bad meal. I wouldn't worry about the food. The buffet is amazing for breakfast. Nikki Nikki
I am a very picky eater. Like others have said, we don't go for food. If we were we would go back to the resort that had the best food I've ever had, but would also cost twice as much and we would be bored the entire time (key part is that bored thing). That said, we haven't had bad food at TTR. We aren't big on the buffet for lunch or dinner (breakfast omelets are awesome tho). The food at the restaurants is good to very good, especially the Italian, in our opinions. Even being the extremely picky eater that I am, I always find something I like and eat. I even have dishes there that I enjoy greatly and look forward to every year. And when I say picky I am talking I don't eat lettuce or any seafood picky, and I even *gasp* hated the paty-o's burgers.
