Are you serious... You really don't know how hard the staff at TTR work until you've been there. They work their asses off and give you great service whether you tip or not, but they DESERVE to be tipped well. If I were you I would worry less about the money aspect of your trip and worry more about how you present yourself to others staying at the resort, because this is not a good start.
He'll quit soon as he's nearly spent his 100$ . I just added up all the 20s and 50s he slipped as bribes to get better service and he's down to his last 10$ then he's broke . BTW what are the dates of your imaginary trip to TTR ?
400.00 is not that much to spend in tips if you are happy with the service. But tip what you can or don't tip at all you're choice.
Umm, did you not read the fact I am dishing out close to $700 USD ($1000 Canadian) for this trip? That is a lot of money, not just for me but for anyone to dish out. Considering that is my monthly rent right there, I figured I would be praised for being 25 and be able to dish that kind of money on a luxury vacation. Calling it cheap? Are you kidding me? Look around, the world is in a recession, people are struggling. $1000 is like as premium as it gets for a vacation, to me this is top luxury and I would challenge you to find something better than this. I promised my gf top star treatment and I am dishing out top dollar for it.
Well TTR isn't luxury and isn't top star treatment so my constructive point is unless you have realistic expectations, which clearly you don't, you are setting yourself and your gf up for a let down. No one is going to kiss you ass at TTR. Several people will likely kiss your gf's ass, literally. So when you can't see the ocean from your balcony without leaning way out and straining your neck, will that be a problem and ruin your vacation? When they give you skol vodka instead of absolut will that be a problem? Are you ok asking nicely for Smirnoff or sky? Is that a problem? If there is rust on the mirror in your room, will that matter? If you have to sit on the beach instead of row 1 for entertainment at the sexy pool, will that be a problem? Or instead just hang in the pool, problem? The point is if you appropriately set expectations and don't expect things that just are not realistic then hey even you might have a great trip. Keep in mind that everyone there paid for their vacation and are there to enjoy themselves, just like you. Status, image, praise are just not words that fit with what TTR is all about. Good luck to you.
Said he is spending $700 for the trip. If $100 per night (via referral allegedly) is too expensive how much is he claiming each night costs?..... in February the most expensive time of year. Prices he quoted are far too low, even if no airfare included. Thinks he is spending 'top dollar', has no money but wants people to think he is a baller. Still a student at 25? Clearly a troll, but these threads can be kind of entertaining so I will let it go on a little while longer for hilarity purposes
