The white bands aren't even available at the front desk, so you couldn't get one, no matter how much you slip to the front desk girls (they are in the premiere check in office totally separate from the non member check in). How about you use the $50 you are wanting to use to sneak a band and use it for tips and you will see that your service will be even better than you imagine. For example, if you put a good tip in the bar jar at the beginning of the day, the bar tenders will remember what you want when you come up. Don't try to cheat the system, it is not worth it. We are members, but truly you do not get that much more for it, everyone is basically waited on hand on foot while there. Also, who cares what people think about you, just have fun and don't worry if people think you have money. No one knows you and no one gives a shit. Melissa
Beside we all pay our fare share to go ,, to cheat the ''system'' is to cheat all other guests that have paid their honest share ,, its like you want others to subsidize your trip....,, a tad selfish. You want to fell special ?? be special don't be a crook . Your trip is paid , just go and enjoy , and stay out of trouble,,, well some kinds of trouble are encouraged at TTR.
Respect your wish to have fun and feel like millionaires on your trip. But this is an all inclusive resort, and many people pay good money for the Premier treatment. You don't get that for free. You're a student. Graduate, obtain meaningful employment, then spend your hard earned money and treat yourself to a Premier trip. You're starting to sound like a bit of a tool continuing to ask about getting what others pay for for free, by playing the "poor student". You are what you are. Enjoy the resort for what you can afford, trust me it's plenty and you won't miss anything.
I understand what you are saying but I have a few comments. 1. This is not a luxury hotel. The staff is awesome, but they aren't treating anyone like royalty. 2. You get great service, tips or no tips. But they aren't like kissing your ass. They work fast and hard no matter what for everyone. Tipping will get you "little extras". For example, sat faster at a restaurant, more attentive service once the waiters know you tip, drinks remember and/or served to you first before someone else that walks up to the bar at the same time, extra towels, soda, water, beer in your room fridge, little towel bed animals. This is all very similar to tipping anywhere else on any level of vacation, or just going out to eat at home. 3. Taking amazing pictures to impress your IG followers is something you could do no matter where you are if you are good with your camera. However, I would not be walking around snapping shots all day for that specific reason alone, just try to have fun. Also, if your at the sexy pool, try to leave your phone in your bag, and/or take close pictures just of yourselves if your intention is to immediately post them to the internet. 4. Bands are strictly regulated and accounted for. I would not try anything shifty in this regard. No employee is going to hook you with a white band for any amount of tipping. However, a nice tip to the person checking you in, might help with a better room. 5. $100 bucks is going to be tight for all the money you intend to spend on your trip. But it is doable. Again, you will get good service with or without tips. 6. I am assuming you are in your very early 20s, because you are a student and have very little money. I would not promote this fact constantly. Remember the way other perceive you is based on how you carry yourself. 90% of people are 30+, so finding groups to fit in with will require a semi-mature attitude (I am stressing the semi part hahaha) 7. You aren't touching a massage anywhere for less then $40, let alone any other services at the resort spa. You may want to reset your expectations on this. Your best bet might be a massage on the beach at one of the huts in short walking distance. 8. I went on two trips regular, and one premier referral. It is hardly a noticeable difference. Especially on your first trip. There is literally one area you won't be able to chill at. IMO it really only matters if you like a few better booze choices, and sitting at the bar. 9. I would not promote the broke college student thing too much. It doesn't seem very mature and there aren't lots of other kids in similar situation that you will be able to bond with. I would hate to see someone alienate themselves right off the bat.
Thank you for the tips. This vacation is very stressful because it is taking a lot of money (close to 700$ US) per person to go on all included. I know it is a lot of money for anyone, not just me. But I felt like being treated like Royality for a week is worth this sum. I am sad how bad the Canadian dollar is, so the 700$ US is like $1000 Canadian which is a huge sum in my eyes to lay down on a vacation. This is my first trip of this magnitude and expense and I feel quite proud and happy to be getting out of cold winter weather and be on the Mexican beach! I heard you can tip the Premier waiters by the pool and they will treat you like members basically, sneaking in premium liqueurs etc? Is this true? As for dinner reservations, whats the best way to ensure you get the time/restaurant you want? Slip the front desk lady a $20 to ensure you get taken care of? What is the optimum way to ensure booking? How do I reserve a chair on the beach/by the pool without waking up? I like to sleep in but hate to lose a chair, can I pay a waiter to reserve the chair for me and when I wake up i come down? Thank you.
No, No and No. If you got your trip for $1000 Can count your blessings. If you are so tight on money how do you think you are gonna pay all these people off to get extras? We go as Premier and honestly we get better service from the regular sexy pool bar and wait staff
