Haha, that's pretty funny!! Ours was a totally private excursion, just us and our tour guide. We even stopped and had a beer and a cigar at a little local hut.

Sounds cool and something I might be interested in doing the next time I'm down, not sure did you say where you booked this little excursion from. We've done the trip to Chichen Itza and of course the "BOOBS" cruise which we enjoyed immensely and we did the tour of Isla Mujeres via golf cart which we both really enjoyed, just kicking back. going at your own pace didn't have a schedule when you had to be back didn't feel the need to rush through things or have add on's that if you had a choice you'd bypass if given a chance. So this jet ski tour sounds like a great idea.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking the ferry to Isla Mujeres. The terminal is a short 5-10min walk down the beach to the right all the way to the pirate ships. Check the Ultramar Ferry website leaving from Embarcado for departure and return times. Rent a golf car and freely and safely tour the island, stop for a beer, you can drink and drive the golf car ;). There's even a drive through beer store lol! The island is only small so it can be a day trip or half day, We like to catch a ferry around 9am. Just be sure to get back on the last boat leaving the island usually 5pm? Jacks bar and Grill is a great place to eat. Owned by an American couple. Its clean and affordable. Located to your left on the corner about 10-15minute walk when you get off the ferry. Research the island there is lots to do and see. There is also an amazing place on the farthest point of the island to the right, to stop and have a beer and look at iguanas bathing on the rocks. beautiful view. The island is basically a circle so you can't get lost. take the side streets and see how real people live. It is always a highlite of our trip. Just make sure you take your license because they will take it to reserve the cart.

We just went to the jet ski hut / dock that's on the far right of the resort (when you're facing the water / quiet pool side of the resort). Just go talk to them about different options and what you want to do. They can cater a jet ski tour for you - I'm sure it helps if you're really friendly and ready to tip!! The Jungle Tour for sure includes the snorkeling / lagoon side tour - we just asked to add on the ocean side of the hotel strip :)

Take the bus down and walk around the night Club area during the day There is a larger flea market there good way to get off the resort and kill a few hours. or go visit the La Isla outdoor mall.

Wow, this is great information. Thanks for your insight on all of this. I will talk it over with the hubby and go from there. I just can't take a whole week of drinking and ...well, you know. Need a vacation from the vacation!

Telum Ruins are quick, Chichen itza is an all day deal !

If you go to Chichen Itza yes it's an all day affair, the Telum trip is not much farther than Playa del Carmen Xel Ha is only a few hours there.
