    Hey all,
So I booked a trip to TTR, without putting much thought into it. Yes, I did read some reviews on other sites prior to booking at 2am one morning, and I think it was the "negative" reviews that sold me on TTR haha. Traveling to Cancun for my first time, and traveling as a single first time I thought a party resort that did not impose a 10pm quite time, lack of little ones running around, "raunchy" pool humor sounds about right to me. Now, it seems I am putting more thought into the smaller details of the trip than I put into the booking of the trip. Since finding it, this forum has been a lot of help.
That said I have a few questions hopefully some of you would be kind enough to help me with.

Tipping: Yes, I understand the importance of tipping. My question(s) is does the staff at the resort prefer being tipped in Pesos or Dollars? I have read on some sites it's harder or even expensive for the staff to convert dollars to pesos.
-- If pesos is the preferred option, does anybody have any recommendations as to were to exchange currency. I assume the airport would be the most expensive.

This also has to do with tipping. this may seem silly, but how do you keep top money on you and possibly dry. Traveling solo I will not have anybody to hold money, room key if random acts of swimming occur. Do men typically get a waterproof wallet?

And finally (at least for now) I will only be there for four nights. Being a newbie who has never "been there done that" I am not seeing a reason to make plans off the property. From what I've read there seem to be enough going on at TTR, to keep even a single traveler busy for four short nights. Does anybody disagree? If so suggestions?

Thanks for reading, and thank you in advance for any help. For anybody I may run into down there l promise I'm not as long winded and overthinking as this may make me seem. I just want to get the most of my trip to TTR.

We have always brought only USD with us to Cancun and never had a problem with tips and\ or off site purchases. IMO you will be more than fine with a stack of George Washington's and it will be appreciated. As far as off site if you like dancing your good. Every night there is more dancing than you can shake a G string at right there on the resort. For us we love the daytime the most. The Sexy pool is a ton of fun and there seems to always be something entertaining to watch from pool side games led by the staff or in pool games led by the guests ;) Not sure if you have any souvenirs you need to pick up if so you have a few close by options. There is a gift shop on site. There is a small store just out the front door to the left (almost on the front lawn). And there is a larger liquor store\ gift shop straight across the street. all of those are a 3 min walk or less. Also a fun option is take a cab to the "Club" area there is line of small shops that you can barter prices on. This is still in the tourist area and totally safe. Its a fun couple hour morning get away before the pool fun gets going around 11:30ish.

Tip money.... from what people say, pesos are waterproof....

Leaving site.... went last year, first time for week, planned to visit a few places .... never left! Lol.... of course, apart from boob's cruise!

Neither of us carried tip money but left it with our bags and had no problems....

We bring pesos as we are from the UK, but the exchange rate at moment is much better for us in pesos than dollars anyway....

Welcome to the board. Glad your not really worried about things like fitting in and being a single male, as we hear lots of those questions from first timers. I tend to think that people sometimes over think that way too much, and it probably ends up making them more awkward then they need to be once they are there.

As far as tipping, it really doesn't matter if it is dollars or pesos. If you leave money on the table, the dresser, or throw it in the tip jar, they are going to be grateful. No matter what, they are going to get USDs, so there is always an exchange part they are going to have to deal with at some point. With each trip I find myself exchanging more money in each time to get pesos, but when I was on my first trip I really didn't and everything was the same. I tend to get pretty toasted, so sometimes the pesos get confusing in my head. It isn't rocket science, and I have no problem in the morning knowing what i am putting in my pockets for the day, but by 6pm it all looks like monopoly money to me (this is the same at home though too, and I always get way too generous once I am in full swing idiot mode).

With all that being said, the pesos are actually great for day time tipping, because the bills are like plastic and waterproof. Most of my bathing suits have a single back pocket with snaps or a zipper, so keeping cash and my key-card in there is not a problem. The other option is to just carry the money in your hand, and tip for the day as soon at you get to the bar. Then just try to go to that bar and that bartender on most orders.

I am sure you will find enough to do in the 4 nights. Personally I would rather drink and party at the pool and bar at night, then I would want to go on a excursion off-sight alone. If you continue to post on the board, and in the single roll call thread, you might even make some friends before you get there.

All of my board shorts have a good pocket in them. I will use a rubber band or a metal clip and wrap my money around my room key and secure it will the clip of rubber band.

Hello, so couple of things. The trip reviews are not always what they appear. Someone coming to our Resort may consider it prude when others seem to consider it a blast. It is all in what you make of it. Be friendly and respectful and it will go a long, long way. Raunchy is definitely a word I would use with caution. You might offend some people here. The day time at the Sexy Pool is great fun !!! You are correct, no, there are no children, it is an adults only resort. A Spring Break for Adults if you will :) Perhaps check out the Single/Roll call and add your travel dates to the list. This can assist you with making new friends and meeting people before you go which are going the same time you do. Chatting back and forth will give you a good idea. Participate in theme nights either sponsored by the hotel or with the group going during your time.

Regarding tips, we personally bring USD dollars as this is worth more to them. Obviously depending on the exchange rate.

A waterproof wallet can be brought for your money and room key. Or, however, only bring down to the pool a small denomination of money for tipping. Most people will bring a small pool bag to put on a chair with their towel to keep their stuff in I.E., sunblock, tanning oil, tips money, room key, etc. There is usually not a problem. Most of the guys just put this stuff in their board shorts. Money is acceptable in all forms, even wet.

There are cruises that are fun. Boobs Cruise. You'll start seeing a Steve with posts regarding this. Something to do if you wish to leave the resort. Since you stated only four days, you may want to stay at the resort. There are plenty of activities each day. https://temptationresorts.com/cancun/ Or they will have nights to go downtown to the clubs. The PatyO Lounge at night is a blast every night !!!

Anytime you have questions, most of them can be found by searching the thread. For the most part, just enjoy yourself and make the most out of your vacation :)
Best of luck to you and hope you have a great time :huepfen021:

Tipping, my experience they like American $, we usually tip our housekeeper well when we arrive or the next morning; tip the bartenders well at the bar you are at the most first thing when you arrive for the day - they will remember. This will keep your hands free :). The first time we came(4 years ago) we never left but after that trip we have tried a few things. You should do the Boobs Cruise, memory not to be forgotten - but other than that enjoy your days so the sexy pool!

We will be back for trip #3 in a week. First trip I bought us a couple clear plastic flat pouches that were on lanyards on Amazon for a few bucks, they seal, so they're mostly water proof, however, we found that after a few drinks you start to have issues getting it completely sealed, so I don't recommend putting anything in there that can't get wet. They zip lock & then also snap closed, so they're very secure - stuff can't fall out. They are great because you don't even have to open them to get into the room. The locks aren't the kind you swipe thru like a credit card, but the type where you just wave the card against the lock, so if you keep it strip out, you just wave the whole pouch against the lock - sooo convenient.

    Example:
Amazon.com: Money & ID Holder (Water resistant) - Women's 28 Inch Lanyard: Sports & Outdoors

I kept my key & tip $ in it, around my neck at all times. Worked great!

    We always tip USD.

    Have fun!

I tipped the nice lady that cleaned our room $5 a day. On the first day I left a five on the bed with a note that asked for extra water and I had so much water I did not know what to do with it all. $3-5 for the breakfast and lunch buffet and more for dinner. I would go see the bartenders for our first drink in the morning and hand them a $20 bill and I was good for the rest of the day. The bartenders will remember you.

Hi Chris! Rachel, from Springfield as well! First, too bad you're not going sooner, as it would be cool to see someone from home while there!

About tipping, wet or dry, US or peso, it's all appreciated, although, obviously, US is preferred due to the exchange rate. You can exchange at the front desk, we've found their rates are as good as any. If you visit the mini mart across the street, hotel shop, etc, they give change in pesos.

Where to keep tip money, just make sure your swim trunks have a zipper, or velcro, pocket big enough for a room card. If not, Kristen78's idea is great!

As for off site plans, go with the flow. If you don't book a Boobs Cruise, that day can be a little quieter, sometimes. A bus ride to the market, or wal-mart, is an adventure in itself! And ttr often offers trips at night to downtown clubs, for a fee, but you have to find your own way back. However, we've never done the night time deals off site, and have never had any regrets! So much easier to just stumble back to the room rather then try to get a cab back to ttr!

If you find yourself bored at the sexy pool-Gasp! I can't imagine that happening!-take a walk down the beach, where you can rent a sea doo, kayak, or go para sailing-did that and loved it!

Whether you never leave the resort, or suddenly choose to do everything you can that's offered, you will have a great time!
