Paying Original Resorts for (referral) reservation

So I'm finally at that point where I can pay for our stay at Temptation this December. I'm using someone's referral week, so I've been in contact with the member and their associate at Original Resorts.

The resort associate sent me a reservations letter, quoting my rate and giving directions how to pay. The options to pay are by phone, by mailing in a check, or clicking on the link on the reservations form.

When I clicked that link, it took me to a page that asked for my credit card info (number, exp, security code, etc) but it did not have the price it would charge me. Instead, it said to enter all the info and I'd get an email back. It wasn't like an instant online payment.

I feel a little nervous giving my cc info with no dollar amount. Plus, the details on the form listed my name, my reservation #, but the phone number and email of the member whose membership I'm using. I don't want my cc info emailed to someone I barely know.

I even tried going to Original Resorts' website to pay through there, but it kept saying my cart was empty (because I booked thru a member, not thru their website) It wouldn't let me enter my reservation # and pay from there.

I've heard horror stories about people's credit cards being misused at and around Temptation.

For those who have booked a referral week, what has your experience been?

i suggest calling in to pay. That's what I have all my friends do when I book Referrals for them under my premier membership. Then you can verbally confirm the price.

Even as premier members we call to ensure that everything is ok.

 

I called. Very easy. Didnt take long at all.

 

Same here.......I always call. My credit card has fraud protection, so I don't worry. I have never sent a check.....

 

We have always had the couples that are using our Referrals to call and pay over the phone. I follow up to make sure all is taken care of.

Yes I have called as well and just made the payment that way. It was very easy and fast.

As far as the Credit Cards being miss-used, I think that is mostly related to the ATM in the gift shop.

 

I've referred, people call and have never had an issue.

 

Since this is a current topic, what is the best way to find someone willing to sell a week for Mid March? we have always booked thru orbiz and have never had a bad experience, hate to jinz our luck, but if there is a better room or a savings i am willing to look into it.. So where do I look?
