Interesting...........that sounds like the restaurant there.......but that doesn't make sense.....so I'd guess you're talking about the 2000 block. Right??? And if construction is going on presently..........it'd seem that the resort won't close during construction. Looking forward to the formal press release.
We were there first week in October, and saw workers up on the roof in that area 1000 and 2000 block but nothing major going on, looked more like a roof repair. If that's where they are planing on raising the roof and adding extra rooms it makes sense. If they added rooms above the 3000 or 5000 sections it would block the sun later in the day. T
Or could it be the Entertainment Crew's office area? Or maybe where the Temptation Suites are housed?
If the press release above is accurate, a 100 room addition could be added without a complete closure. It would almost certainly mean a partial closure and remodeling one block at a time, but that would be a way to keep income flowing even during construction. Hopefully they are not intending to go super high-end like a 5 star which would likely change the atmosphere and price many out. There are plenty of places like that already in Cancun, and every one has a better beach location. I find it almost laughable though when they talk about expansion into Miami, Europe, and elsewhere when Cabo has not been rebuilt yet.
I was asking that innocently. I just am not sure what it is about this time of the year that the pot really gets stirred up again. Logic would suggest that if the slower time of the year is hurricane season, that would be the ideal time to plan on doing construction, because the resort is less crowed. Which would then make me think announcements would firm up and come out 6 months prior to.
WOW. Like the pic! This shows us something, and those walls are concrete block which means it is structural, and clearly following the pattern of the rooms below. You can also see re-rod for the concrete deck to come, although that could be pre-cast and simply lifted on. I wonder if they will go up with another level above this? Either way, they're in the range of needing elevators someplace if you go much beyond three floors. One thing is certain, they're building a lot more than an outdoor shower up there.
