This a quote of Steve's FB post yesterday. "I'm hearing that a formal announcement is expected from the hotel in the very near future re the long talked about renovations. Stay tuned."
Cigar Lounge Well done you........... we've visited TTR 3 times ( 35 days in all ) and have never found it (LOL) ......... glad some ones found it before it possibly disappears !!!! :mnm::mnm:
We had an awesome toy exchange party there last year. No hot tub but there are fountains and people danced in the fountains naked lol. However, the resort did charge us $ per person but they did stock the bar, have a bartender and music and turn on the lights. Much debate over whether it is right they charge their guests at an AI but regardless the party kicked ass
Think they charged because it doesn't get used. It is a shame because it is a nice out of the way spot where you could meet before dinner have a couple of cocktails and head on over for dinner. There was talk of reopening it when we were last down there but guess that has changed. Granted the resort needs a facelift but I've always thought it to be a nice intimate resort where the guests interact with one another, if it gets too big you may lose that, how many times have you been to a larger resort and the other person won't evenlook at you on the elevator ride down????
We have seen this cigar bar a lot...could be easily spotted from our one room. It is a shame that they don't use it...especially for all the rooms that are down that way! Jenn & Kyle good idea...we should keep that idea in mind for our next trip unless it is removed during their upcoming renovations (whenever that may be)
I would have like to have used it in the past, and think it was a bummer it was never open. Sometimes I would like to chill in a setting like that before or after the craziness of patyOs. Maybe there will be a new area similar in whatever it is they are planning.
Speaking of elevators....that would be a welcome improvement for the upcoming project, whatever else it might entail. That late night drunk climb to the 4th floor can be a bit perilous.
We got a Jacuzzi room last October and we only ended up using the Jacuzzi once. Fortunately it was a free upgrade.
Yeah, we got a hot tub at home so using it isn't a big deal. It wasn't a much more on the total of the trip to get it, and figured it was worth it to make sure we didn't get a bad Garden View room. First floor walk out should be nice. We saw the ocean plenty on our last two trips from the upper floors of the GP. Will miss the sound of the crashing waves though.
