I love all these interpretations of "the rules".............they are clear as a bell.......to us! Dress shorts are fine.........So are t-shirts if they have sleeves! If you and yours Desire more formal attire ..........by all means go for it! Live and let live!

OK. I admit that I missed that the reference was to "Sports" shorts and not just shorts in general. My bad...

That being said... Damn I must be a BEAST!!!! The fact that I can wear blue jeans almost every night in Cancun and not risk passing out from the heat must make me invincible!!!

OK.. I know it's a matter of comfort and maybe I can deal better that others...

That being said, personally I've always seen the specialty restaurants as being special. You need reservations, they served you up nice and it was a little special evening. So yeah, I dressed the part and was the only time I did the button down shirt and dress pants. And yeah, I thought it was a mood killer when other guys drifted in in sleeveless tee-shirts and shorts.

But then again I am cursed in worrying about how my actions may effect others and their enjoyment of the moment. I know others aren't as cursed and couldn't care less since they are on vacation and they are going to enjoy their vacation their way.

As everyone has said.. to each their own.

For what it's worth, I emailed the resort and got a response from a manager named Jose who says pants are still required for the reservation restaurants.
