Push come to shove, I read the hotel has laundry service. Typically it's not crazy expensive and convenient for just a couple of items.

I hope the Super Bowl made your commute a nightmare. :icon_cool:

We were prepared to, but it doesn't look like we'll have to now.

We get there tomorrow, and it's supposed to be pissing rain all day (I know the forecast always calls for rain, but this one looks legit.) So we probably won't have to choose between pool and game. And we'll also be there the following week, but that's a Monday night game, so it should coincide nicely with the end of pool time.

If the Bears win, I'm buying about 14 rounds of shots for myself!

It's been raining since last night, tomorrow doesn't look good. (Marissa and I are supposed to go to a yacht BBQ tomorrow from Puerto Aventuras)

There have been lots of weather posts and replies from people that seem to be experts on the weather because they have been to Cancun X number of times. Here is a note from a friend of mine that is responsible for yacht chartering nearby.

"For storms of note, tropical disturbances, named storms and hurricanes, you can always refer to NOAA — National Hurricane Center

Weather Underground and Wind Guru are reliable source as well and will show you the more localized weather that NOAA doesn't.

One of the best indicators for timing when a storm's severity will increase, or just how the weather will deteriorate in general is keeping your eye on the barometric pressure. Especially when paired with radar.

Right on Weather Underground you can look at the pressure bar in their weather graph for how quickly it is expected to drop. If it is dropping 1hPa per hour or more for at least three hours, expect storm conditions and heavy winds. A slower drop in pressure than 1hPa/hr can still indicate worsening weather, typically with less severity.

For good weather, when a high is returning, it's the exact opposite. Rising pressure is a good sign."

That's excellent information, thank you. I've been judging based on total predicted rainfall for the day, rather than percent chance of rain. So, Weather Underground is saying 1.5 inches tomorrow, myforecast.com has 2.5 tomorrow - doesn't feel like it's going to be a pool day. All the other days with .1 or .2 inches of rain just feel like your typical Cancun forecast.

Wait a minute, aren't you used to rain up there in Seattle?

Used to be, but it was pretty much 90 here every day for the last five months -weirdest summer I can remember. Pretty much turned us into sissified Sun Belt types who start whining at the first sign of clouds.
