Booked this morning and all set for pick up ... that made one less hassle for me having to worry about the exchange ... Thanks for the post this was a great help !!!
The *only* thing I do not like about USA Transfers is that you don't pay until you reach your destination. The 1st time I used USA Transfers, there was a bit of confusion + debate because I thought I had already paid up front. I was mistaken, of course, as later I realized I had not. However, with all the bookings I had made for my trip (flight, hotel, excursions, airport parking) the shuttle via USA Transfers was the ONLY service not paid in advance, so it was easy to forget. I may try Canadian next time around.
I'm about to book the airport shuttle soon. I know we've discussed this, but has anyone had a preference of Canadian Transfers over USA Transfers? I thought it was mentioned that Canadian Transfers charges $55 CAN for 2 people round trip, but I'm looking at their website now and it says $55 USD, which is the same price as USA Transfers. I do like that, with Canadian Transfers, you can order beer + wine to be ready for you when you arrive. Coronas are only $1 USD and other beers are $2 USD I especially like that you can prepay in advance with Canadian Transfers. That was the only thing I did not like about USA Transfers. All parts of my trips (flight, hotel, airport parking) have been pre-paid, but USA Transfers was the only thing that wasn't and it was easy to forget to bring the payment right off the plane. So, again, has anyone tried both companies and prefer one over the other? Thanks, Mrs. Cheers
USA do still accept Canadian at par if you pay on arrival, I checked the other day. The owner of USA Transfers is Canadian. The owner of Canada Transfers is Mexican who used to work for USA in charge of the vehicle fleet, he left USA after a falling out and started his own company with vans he stole from his former employer. Then he picked a company name that would piss off his previous employer the most. He wont ever get any positive press from me. As for beer and wine in the van on arrival, airport restrictions prohibit transfer companies from carrying alcohol on airport premises, I guess they haven't been caught yet. As mentioned above USA will stop at the nearest convenience store outside the airport, beer is about 75 cents and there is a much wider selection. You can also prepay with USA you just have to ask them via email and they'll send you a link to pay via credit/debit card.
Was surprised you let the conversation go on as long as it did before weighing in Steve. I've always found the drivers from USA Transfers to be very courteous and very friendly. The gents we've had have always engaged us in conversation and have pointed out things along the trip. I think we only ever ended up once with a driver that spoke nothing but Spanish but he got us to where we were going the quickest. Which I appreciated cause it put my butt on the resort that much sooner
