Just wanted to post a little something after my first trip (08-15SEP15), particularly since there are a lot of hesitant singles out there. I’ll start by saying that I did not have as full an experience as I would have liked and that is completely 100% on me. The fact that I even took this trip by myself was a huge step on my part, but I did let anxieties get to me once I arrived. (Although I was proud that I haven’t had my shirt off in public in about 10 years and it took me 10 minutes at TTR to lose the shirt and hit the pool. ) Now, don’t be confused. I actually had a very good time and met some really nice people. I just found that my introverted nature had me a little gun-shy when it came to approaching groups. Single people, I cannot stress this enough – EVERY person I met was great. All were very welcoming and nobody made me feel out of place for being a solo guy. If I decide on a return trip next September, the one change I will make is trying to make real connections and break the ice via these forums prior to heading down. I found my facial recognition was not very good once I arrived. So, not a full trip report, but a few thoughts: I was in 2201 which is about 10 steps from Paty O’s. I actually enjoyed the location, but I’m also a heavy sleeper (for the couple of nights I was in bed when the party was raging). USA Transfers was awesome, will never go again and not use them. The day I arrived I took my Bubba Mug to the pool and must have forgot about drinking water, because I took a “nap” at 6pm, woke up at 4am and had a pounding headache for the next 48 hours. Once I recovered I drank at will and never felt bad again. Booze Cruise was really fun and I took the abuse from Chinos and Omar with a smile. I especially need to thank Trish and another woman whose name I can’t recall because they looked out for me as far as making sure I was getting proper sunblock coverage. I still got a nice burn on my shoulders even though I must have reapplied 5x on the trip. Trying to get the Thu Night Football game on multiple TVs in the sports bar seemed like they needed special codes and two people to turn their keys at the same time. Headed off the resort on Sunday to watch football and white knuckled my seat until I got to Hooters. (Took especially long because he forgot to tell me when to get off) I’ll wrap up because I’m babbling. Just want to reiterate that I had a really great time. These were baby steps for me and maybe next time I’ll bust that comfort zone wide open. Thanks to everyone that made me feel welcome and look forward to seeing you again.
Book another trip immediately so as not to lose the gains in baby step progression. And to keep the momentum flowing in a positive direction. Also some certain weeks of the year have more singles and solo singles. Try to time your next journey to Mecca accordingly.
Enjoyed hearing about a TTR trip from your perspective. A single guy that is trying something new, expanding their horizons and at TTR for ALL the right reasons. Thanks for sharing. I hope you decide to go back soon and take that next step.
I think this was you, if so you took the abuse from them like a champ and rocked that pussy face like nobody's business.
@jasten Yep, that's me! I have to hand it to Mr. Jasten who was chock full of energy every time I saw him during my stay. A true inspiration to a fellow 40-yr old.
@pvtnurse I'll definitely look into it, but I've got tentative plans for Las Vegas in March and Florida in May - so April may be tough. If it's a no-go, maybe I'll wait to see your dates in September.
Glad you had a great time! I've seen single guys mix in and party like crazy but I've also seen some sit by the pool and read all day. Hope you can fit in another visit soon! - Mrs. Cheers
