Hugging is very much a southern thing We moved to Louisiana from Nebraska three years ago and own a business in the hospitality industry.. it took me a couple months to get used to the hugs from strangers...don't get me wrong..Nebraska people are friendly folks but a handshake is for strangers, a back/shoulder pat for acquaintances, and a hug is only for really close friends. I forgot this etiquette after being away for a couple years...I went home to visit family and ran into an old coworker from 15 yrs ago and tried to hug her .... she looked at me as if I had lost my mind haha

Wow, I can totally relate to these posts, too. (This is Mrs. Cheers, by the way. Mr. Cheers doesn't post) I have been socially awkward my whole life, yet, when I'm at Temptation, chatting, hugging, even initiating conversations become second nature to me!

I've seen so much hugging at Temptation, topped + topless, that I can't imagine it being awkward there. Of course, to each his own, and if someone is uncomfortable, by all means, they shouldn't hug.

I'd say, for a guy wondering if it's OK to hug a woman (that isn't his wife) maybe if you lean in forward slightly, as if to initiate the "safe" hug (shoulder to shoulder, but front-facing) it'd be OK. That way, if she is comfortable, she can lean in more, completing the "full" hug if she wants.

I hope this makes sense. I know I'm not much into "full" hugging with other men, but shots + mojitos tend to make things not matter as much.

We're both big huggers too. Here's to group.....hugs. Yes, hugs. That's what I mean't to say. Phew, that almost got awkward.

I hope I don't come off as an egotistical asshole as I don't mean to offend although she'll say I'm the more social of the two she does initiate most of the conversations. I can handle my own mind you, and we've met a lot of people over the years. All very nice people and have enjoyed there company immensely. I've been greeted with handshakes and hugs the occasional kiss on the cheek so what's my point if you're nervous in the situation or wonder if it's appropriate to hug because maybe it's to soon you can do this. " I really like you and was just wondering if you'd be offended if I gave you a hug" the worse that can happen is they'll say no right.

Out of the two of us. Brian is more the social and I (Michelle) am more shy till I get warmed up. This is our first visit to TTR (June 20th 2016) I tend to hug alot so reading this post very reassuring. Thank you :) we have never been to any resort so we are complete newbies :)
