We've just returned from 2 glorious weeks at Desire RM & Pearl, and having spoken to management there, it seems that the company are currently looking at sites to open a Desire property in the Dominican Republic. How does that sound? We'd love it! :daisy:
Would love another option. Sounds great. Been reading about issues w the entertainment staff turnover. Sounds like a common problem w resorts like this. Curious on your take. Did it get better the last two weeks?
Entertainment staff at RM was dire. Co-coo (??) (Sarah 69's boyfriend), and a RL couple Christian & Laura who had only been there a week. 'Entertainment' in the daytime consisted of guests being used a cheap thrills. Awful. Pearl, as always, was magnificent. 8 entertainers, Charlie, Marco, Vincent. Liz we all know, and new staff Eli, Kia, Nessie and English girl Bee, all worked their socks off and kept us happy all day. :daisy:
Awe. That is disappointing. We miss the pearl staff. In May at rm we even thought the entertainment staff was lacking compared to pearl. Not good it even got worse.
Just because they are wearing Original Resorts name badges/shirt and sort of look like Desire staff and are in the front lobby don't assume that they are actually regular Desire staff (more likely membership sales people) - most of these rumors that have circulated over the last 10 yrs ie: a new Desire resort in(chose the location), Desire become a membership only property, etc have been attributed to the membership sales people hoping you will buy in and they make their big commission. So, if someone mentions one of these rumors, first ask if they are a membership sales person and you have a pretty good idea of how accurate it might be - lol Typically Original Resort staff don't know details of major corporate decisions until it's a done deal(just like staff at any large corporation) ie: then they get to know just before the official Original Resorts PR material is released to the press and travel agents All the real Desire staff know that they are not allowed to give out any official corporate info to guests unless it has already been released by Original Resorts PR dept or they would lose their jobs for doing so.
they reduced it by 2 storeys to accommodate the clothing optional roof top pool ,,,duh,, don't you have internet ??? ,lol
