Nothing about the mold... frankly I think they think its normal. I will say that April is a lot better than November on that front (ie ...end of rainy season...vs a few months of heat) further... I always had ground floor rooms ... this time I was on the second floor at it was better. At present you walk in the door and get hit with the smell of Temptation ...kind of like dropping into your favorite cheesy strip joint ... now if that becomes essential oils... I wonder if you lose the vibe ... LMFAO So long as the air handling system can't reduce humidity... there is zero change of fixing this issue ... hopefully the new infrastructure means new air handling equipment... ie... AC that actually shuts off when it reaches the desired temperature rather than run all week trying to get down to 75F
It seems like it's been a while since anybody has mentioned the Renovations? Does anyone have any news on a possible date to start their expansion?
So.......does that mean the 4000 and 5000 block rooms? That's a mess over there. Wasn't that a separate resort at one point! The rooms are different over there. If they add that many beds surely they'll add more pool space and another restaurant. We'd also hope for a new "night club" area.........and we'd love to see a huge Desire style hot tub. We're very pleased that they'll keep the resort open. And..........we'd love a CO section.......not likely to happen, but we really think that would be a hit! It's going to be a very interesting ride. A tear down and 9 story addition is going to take a couple years........don't you think? We're nervously excited!
I love the Desire style hot tub idea! I'm tired of getting kicked out of that little hot tub for things my hands did! Clearly not my fault after that many shooters! What's a CO section?
Oh those nasty hands! CO is Clothing Optional.......aka........NUDE! With your hands play maye that not a good idea..............but come next July.......we like hands!
Doesn't matter if you're in the Caribbean, Southern US, or Pacific Northwest... any time you're in a humid climate, you're going to have issues with mold. Only so much can be done to mitigate the issue.
OK, NEW NEWS on the renovations. Just got back and got the scoop from Nadar. They're going to tear down the 4000 block of rooms as well as half of the 5000 block of rooms. Replacing it with a seven to nine story tower complete with a clothing optional pool on the roof and hot tubs. I believe the idea is to book the tower as a Clothing Optional section kinda like Desire. They're also building a second floor over El Embarcadero that will house a club for daytime use as well as a nightclub. I believe COCO BONGO is supplying the fixturing for this. Should be upscale! Also moving the sexy POOL about 100 feet further out and increasing it's size to accommodate the increase in patrons. The lack of use of the beach has caused this determination. It appears they're going to shut down the sexy pool in April 2016 to start this renovation. The rest will start March 2016. Some work has already started as I noticed surveyors taking measurements while I was there. Management has stated to me personally that they plan on changing the VIBE to be even sexier than ever. The completion is becoming more evident than ever. Several resorts are copying TTR's success. I wouldn't book during March 2016-March 2017. It's going to be a disaster around there.
we have heard all this before ,and nothing ever happens. will believe when the shovels hit the ground . No disrespect to you , just to the resort for crying wolf so many times
Donald you are spot on...........no disrespect to Boo&LaRoy.....but after 3 previous posts he has all the answers! Possibly they are "spot on"........Well at least it's possible.....but 6 months out they are still considering 7-9 floors.."...And I'd bet that as of now nothing has been permitted. The 4000 and 5000 block rooms are an old resort that TTR apparently consumed after the last major hurricane to hit Cancun.....They are a mess and likely would be the first to go.......so that makes sense to us. We love the possibility of a C/O section and the roof top is really the only place to make that happen in the resorts location......so that makes sense. We remain a bit skeptical ............ but are interested in the rumors! Basically we'll believe it when we see it!
