Wedgies, what do you think about getting some group pictures at the beach and at Patio's? I'm so excited to see old friends and meet new friends, Lucinda
Wedgies, if you are frequent travelers to Mexico you may recognize that the exchange is the highest it has been in over 12 years! The current wholesale 'bank rate' is around 16.5 peso to the USD. It is almost impossible to get the 'bank rate' but keep your eyes open for comparable rates. We generally tip a US dollar for drink orders, but try and tip in pesos for most others. The staff find peso tips much easier to spend since they don't have to go to a bank and they don't have to pay an exchange fee. We're no experts on tipping etiquette, but our housekeepers always seem extremely grateful for a 50 peso daily tip. We find peso tips greatly appreciated by the waitstaff also. The front desk will exchange for a fairly decent rate, but if you are taking the bus through the Hotel Zone you will see slightly better rates available. We actually prefer using one of the banks that you will find in the various malls. -Joe- P.S. Stay away from the ATM in the Gift Shop at the hotel. It's skimming issues may be taken care of, but why be the victim that proves that they have not?!
Sounds good to us, too! Can't wait to see you guys again this year! We had some good White Night pics last year at Paty-O....lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sooooooo excited!!!! This will be my and my husband's first trip to TTR. I am beyond excited and finding it hard to get anything else done because its all I can think about! We will be there Oct. 15th-22nd and are coming with another couple as well. As I have read through this thread it looks like there will be a lot of Ohio folks there during this time!!!! O-H.......
