If that's true that it is $90 per person, per day, then you might want to see if you can cancel with RCI, then save or sell your timeshare week. I just looked it up on Cheap Caribbean, and it is only $185 a night for two that week. Not sure it makes much sense to use your timeshare week to save 5 bucks a day.
We're actually trading points from our Hilton timeshare (only 1440 for those 6 days), so our only costs are really the AI fee. The points were due to expire, so we think we've found the best way to use them Thanks for the info on another avenue, though... If all goes well, we're expecting our first trip won't be our last!
Not sure we understand what you mean about going as a member and the points reference. Could you please explain?
When you go as an RCI , do you get the same benefits as a premier member ?? ie , better rooms ,,better drinks ,easier dinner reservations , ect ?? bonus wifi ,,ect..
Okay, understand now. No, don't believe those benefits are extended to those who trade into the resort. We aren't RCI members anyway, so it's unlikely we'd see any extra perks even if they were available. HGVC partners w/ RCI so we've deposited expiring HGVC points in RCI and are using them thusly
No, my understanding from a few people that have booked via RCI is that you do not get the white member bracelets. (it's just a few extra perks, nothing you will really be missing, especially if it is your first trip). That's cool though you could use your points before they expired!
We're learning a lot by reading everyone's tips and tricks here already. Not being members, are upgrades even available?
