With how hard you guys party I think you are doing it right with TTR first then Desire. It is definitely a step down in level of party, especially during the day. So you can recover poolside and then party it up again at night. See both sides but for us we go really hard at TTR too and as a result need some recovery time (with fun mixed in) before assimilating back into the real world.

I'm curious if anyone thinks that splitting time has a drawback. I couldn't convince the wife to move to a better room at DRM once settled, let alone move to another resort. How much downtime does it take to check out, taxi over, and check in? I suppose it's minimal if you're familiar with both resorts, but still.

Not being critical - I'm interested to hear experiences. Maybe it's not as bad as I imagine.

To each his own, but I'm with your wife on that. I would feel like I'm missing out on something while transferring from one place to the other. Then you have to get checked in, and all that hassle. I suppose if you've been to Cancun enough you don't feel like you have to maximize your time?

I don't think we'd split Desire and Temptation again, 1 or the other. We're splitting our vacation this time cause we actually want to spend a few days exploring Coba, cenotes, Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen, see what we've missed the other times there, then head to Temptation to do our livers harm. :eek:rangehat:

It has worked out really well for us when going from TTR to either Desire property. Here is why...

    - the trip is only 30 mins
    - usually Desire has rooms available prior to normal check in time.
    - if they don't have rooms available you can keep your bags in the lobby (like any hotel) but also let you have a locker in the spa (not like other hotels) for which to change and store some items you may want to access until your room is ready. And it is a really nice setup.
    - yes that doesn't get you past packing and unpacking but we really don't bring much to TTR or Desire.

We have split time between TTR and Pearl a couple times. We love it. The transfer from one resort to the other is really no big deal. Last time we went to Pearl first. Left early enough and arrived at TTR just in time to board the Boobs Cruise. We just left all of our bags with the bellhop, enjoyed our day on the cruise and had a room waiting for us when we got back.

We did a split trip, but we were already members at the time so we went through the Premier desk, it was easy-peasy. 3 days at DRM and 4 days at TTR. Good time! Not enough time, either place though.
