We would love to do NOLA but that weekend would cost more than an 8 day trip to Mecca so it's awfully difficult to justify the trip.
I had made the decision a few years ago to basically stop watching tv. I guess I figured life is too short and precious to spend sitting on a sofa looking at a screen. I have almost never regretted the decision. Today would be the exception. I have the house to myself today. Channel surfing some NFL while keeping an eye on the Jays with a plate of wings in front of me sounds friggen good right now. I have the big screen tv I have the wings I have the liquor cabinet and beer fridge stocked I have the house to myself BUT I DON'T HAVE SATELLITE or CABLE :banghead: Me and my bright ideas.

If you get in on the discounted block of rooms at Hotel Monteleone early enough you can get a great deal at the historic Hotel.---- One of the oldest in the Quarter, thusly one of the oldest in the U.S. It also has one of our favorite bars in Nawlins in the lobby. The Carousel Bar. It rotates! The savings are significant the earliar you book. And the weekend is super cool and very rewarding. Hell, just doin' the Bourbon St Pub Crawl, in full costume with 300+ of the best ppl and having Chinos as the pied piper leading the way is something priceless, and should be mandatory at least once in a lifetime.
