I can top all those fares. A couple of months ago, on a Saturday morning, I thought to myself "I should check for flights for Halloween". I went on cheaptickets.com and searched SFO to CUN with flexible dates. It came back with a $189 r/t fare for our exact dates. I checked the flight figuring it would one of those 36 hour half way around the world b.s. flights on Monkeyfuck Airways. Nope. They were on American and had one stop in Phoenix each way with just enough layover to make our connecting flights. Amazing. I booked it instantly and it went through. A half hour later the same flight was $470.
We usually book early also but I just booked friends TODAY for October for $261 RT non stop out of Phoenix. That's half of what we paid and ours are I layover :banghead::banghead:
Just checked the price of our return flight we booked in July. It's now more expensive than the price of our round trip fares! wow, paid to book early
