What is the range of mens' swimwear at the resort? Last year we did a week at DRM, so I don't have much issue with some southern exposure. I bought a pair of square brief trunks, but they didn't get much use. I'll definitely bring those to TTR, but I'm considering my options since I can't just go nekkid. Do any guys wear Speedo style briefs, or thong styles? Wifey thinks they're unattractive on guys, but I may bring a bright yellow Borat style slingshot just to put her on edge. :wink3: I'm curious what the ladies think looks good (because you work so hard to look good for us) and what the guys think is most practical (because I haven't tried any of the above.) Yes, there are a few (VERY few) men who may wear a thong. And your wife is correct, they don't look good. HOWEVER, it's your vacation, wear what you want!! Everything from board shorts to speedos is acceptable and you will find company wearing whatever you choose.
Thanks for the honest feedback - I was half-kidding about the thong, but may look for something more like a Speedo racer style. I can't take board shorts though - I feel like I'm sitting in a wet diaper.
It really depends when you go. Our group in May we had a day dedicated to guys in thongs. I wore a thong on several days, the most coverage was small square cuts. My favorite are from Aussiebum.
My hubby hates board shorts too. He is bringing the swim shorts you mentioned. He looks quite fetching in them Wear what you feel comfortable in. Once you are in the pool does it matter? hehe
Check out the AussieBum suits. SUPER comfortable to wear and somehow they get it to you in a week. I (John) have three of them. The only drawback is no pocket for a key or cash (at least in the ones I own) but you won't want to go back to baggy board shorts after trying them.
I am very thankful every vacation for the man who invented swim shorts and board shorts .... it takes a dedicated man to be a speedo kind of man
You would not catch me in board short down to the knees or past the knees type swimwear. They are too heavy, take forever to dry and I don't care for the baggy over stuffed look. I prefer anything from a thong up to square cuts for the guys and the wife does too. I also have a couple of Aussiebum suits and they a very comfortable and worth the $$ T
