Haha yes this is defiantly a thing now with smart phones, but I can't see a watch ever going away. Yes technically you don't need them, but that isn't the only reason why you wear them. They just add an extra element of style. A nice watch will be a forever classic. We wear shirts and ties at my office. 90% of the men I interact with have on a watch every day, and they change them up often. Probably different in some of the other departments, but I am in the financial/executive area, so I guess it is more like the hip thing, hahaha. Also, if I am out and about my cell phone stays in my pocket or on the bar. So I do look at my watch often for the time, because I literally try to pick up and look at my cell as little as humanly possible.
I don't have either usually and can probably count on one hand how many times I've asked someone for the time. If I'm hungry it's lunch time, if I'm tired it's nap time and if I'm horny.... If I didn't have to work I think I'd live every day like that
MY response to this question before: I like to put on slacks and loafers and a collared shirt, I like to at least try and compliment Tina, she spends a lot of time to make sure she looks beautiful and sexy for me, I want to make every effort I can to look my best for her, its a date night for us.
We didn't eat at any restaurant that required dress code or reservations. We were too busy having fun and never made reservations or worried about a nice meal. We ate buffet, Margaritas, the grill at sexy pool or Patty O's. Between all my wife's outfits and shoes I barely have room for a pair of shorts. :icon_lol: We will probably try to visit one of them this trip but I am not packing slacks or jeans. If I can get in with a nice button up, nice shorts and some Sperry's than we will eat, if not we will find something else.
Pam will wear some type of short, revealing dress and I like to wear linen slacks and camp shirts (Tommy Bahama). We change for theme nights after dinner.
Ok so if you were going to a nice restaurant in your home towns . The ladies would still spend the time needed to look good . Hair make up clothes and shoes etc all co ordinated and for you her man .....would you drag on a pair of sloppy board shorts and rat eared wife beater and flip flops and yell honey I'm ready .....then expect to get laid later ???? Then why do it at TTR ...what's the difference . If your not prepared to put the effort in to look almost as good as her then go to the Buffet .
I am always hot. If I am not at work then I am wearing shorts, even in the snow. With that said, I wore pants to the Italian, oriental and seafood restaurants and was never uncomfortable. The air conditioning is probably better there than any other buildings in the resort.
I'm thinking of changing my 'I can choose my own title' to something about watches as I'm usually the only person at the pool wearing one, hence everyone comes to me to ask the time. Only time I really wear a watch is in Cancun.
I usually try and stay away from any of the controversial topics on here (in real life I love a good "debate" but not in vacation life!) But I cannot resist any longer.... I don't get the big debate on here, since the entire mantra of the whole resort is "nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit" than the only thing that really matters is how your partner feels I would think. Now as a blundering, dumb, in-sensitive Man I have done many wrong and dumb things in the past, present and the future I'm sure--sometimes things that I don't even know about :icon_neutral: but one thing that I have learned is that if she wants me dressed up, than I will be dressed up, if not than I am going to be comfortable. Whether or not Bob from Idaho (no offense Idaho or Bob)cares if I am dressed up or not is pretty irrelevant here. I can with confidence say that at no time has my meal been ruined or effected by someone choosing to wear some dress shorts instead of having a full pant leg......Lori could care less about whether I have pants on or not (actually I think she would rather me not!) and if your spouse does care than that is great--wear pants. If your spouse cares if I am wearing pants or not than maybe we should be at a different resort than:wink3: Off of my soapbox and will just go back to talking about drinking, boobs, and acting like an idiot now.....
