OMG!! That is the worst vacation story I've ever heard! The worst anniversary trip ever. Your husband apparently is quite a fighter and you too are very strong. I cannot imagine being in your place watching my husband practically bleed to death while in another country! While I hope to never need the info you provided, but thank you for doing so. One never knows what the future holds. You both deserve a big DO OVER..... if you dare.
Thanks Steve, yah for the care he got there in General Hospital to stabilize him at a cost of $185.00 was nothing at all. The cost for a UCLA doctor is a lot more then $500 an hour. UCLA is the best hospital in the whole USA know for Cancer Research and Cardiology. We were put into the right hands and couldn't be happier that we made it through this nightmare. Counting my blessings every minute. MY LUGGAGE IS STILL BEING HELD HOSTAGE AT TTR!
We heard what happened and tried to find a way to contact you guys to see if we could help. Thank you for posting and we are glad to hear that Tariq is ok. We really enjoyed meeting you guys and were just shocked when we heard what happened. Thank you for posting your story...it was eye opening. Cheers Laura and Will
Amazing those fuckers get their sombreros in a wad about Donald Trump while they treat people like that. We treat illegal Mexicans here like kings and they treat legit tourists like shit ... assholes.
Uh oh on the last note. I won't go there, not cool. But I will just say everyone everywhere in the world wants to be paid for their services and sadly this includes life saving services. What gets me is lack of transparency in what I need to do to be sure we are covered. We have a special U.S. Insurance that covers us when traveling abroad since I do have to travel for work some. But what is always confusing to me is what 'covers' means and how the Mexican hospital/ doctor system would connect back to my U.S. insurance that is supposed to work globally. When I have called in the past for the explanation I am told I am covered but this story will ensure I do the due diligence to know exactly what that means and how the billing would work. I am thinking based on stories like this I need to pay up front and then get reimbursed but how can you pay up front when the services are at a greater cost than your limits? Very thought provoking so thank you for sharing and educating the rest of us with your story.
