We are first timers going down Oct 15 - 22 and we enjoy going out for a night to enjoy the A La Cartes so I was hoping to get some feedback on which ones are must and which ones are not so great ... how you go about reserving a spot ... and how many times are you allowed to use the A La Carte during a week long stay. We are so excited to be going and look forward to meeting all kinds of fun new people and dont be shy to drop us a line here and say hi if you are heading down at the same time Devilhorns
There are 5 restaurants at TTR and you can go to all as many times as you want. You have to book at the Italian and Asian places but a few pesos will often get you a table even when the resort is full. El Embarcadero: Buffet, Some people don't like this but I've never had any complaints. Tip the egg lady in the morning and there's usually bacon. Bacon, bacon, bacon. Oh and drink the green stuff if you're hungover. Ask for Baileys with your morning coffee, hair of the dog and all. The village Wok: Asian, excellent food. Far from a bar so if there's a wait you have to walk a little for drinks. Bellavista: Seafood, go with members to enjoy the coconut shrimp and share the lobster dinner. Otherwise pretty good. If there's a wait the bikini bar (quiet pool bar) is conveniently right outside and open late. Il Piacere: Italian, always incredible meals here and ask for the special coffee. Quiet pool bar is not far away again Hm, I see a theme here... Margarita's: Tex/Mex, snack bar during the day/lunch (chicken wings!). There's a soup I really, really like here at night. Food is good, no complaints but no real highlights for me personally. I've never reserved in all my trips and never had a problem getting in, or making friends with others that have reservations I think you have to phone in the morning. I'm sure someone knows this and will reply. http://temptation.originalresorts.com/restaurants-bars/
