Depends on occupancy. If you are a good negotiator, you might have luck. Please remember, most oceans are only partially viewable from the balcony or decking leading to your room. They only have a few true ocean view.
Yah, they have never heard that before. The chances are slim. If you don't like what they give you just ask nicely what else is available. We usually look at 2-3 rooms before moving our luggage. Don't worry, Be Happy.
No, it really is my birthday the day we get there! Lol! I really am not picky... Ocean view is great! Just thought I'd ask since it's our first time going there. Thanks! [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can't imagine asking for other rooms when I've been drinking all day. I'm going to have to pace myself really good for 5 hours! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
What it really comes down to is "What is important to you?" There are a number of people here who don't really care and just need a place to crash. There are a number of people on here who love to have that ocean view to relax on their balcony in the morning or evening. There are a number of people on here who love to save every whopping penny and feel the need to be a PITA to the front desk by seeing a bunch of rooms and negotiating rates. We have been all three of these and stayed in rooms overlooking the roof, oceanview, jacuzzi, garden, and even looking into the resort next door. We know what we are getting with each of these options. If you have a preference, plan accordingly. Note: never had a street view (but have visited them and they are nice) due to our tendency to go naked onto the balcony for sunscreen application....didn't want to cause a car accident.
Lol! I really think I'm cool with an ocean view. I do love a balcony in the morning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ocean view sounds nice, but if you've never been to TTR, it's hard to understand that TTR has very little to do with the ocean. We would prefer a sexy pool view over an ocean view. Seriously, the room really doesn't matter much. It's more about whose room you end up in! Lol!
Besides sleeping and getting ready. We never spend more then 20-30 min a day in our room our on the balcony. Here is how our trip typically looks: Wake up, shower, get chairs at pool, eat breakfast, back to the room to change, sexy pool, go eat lunch, sexy pool, back to room to shower and change for dinner, go eat dinner, nice shoes, Patty'O, stumble back to room, wake and repeat.
Yeah, I agree. We are hardly ever in the room either, just sleeping really. That being said, are last trips have been to the GP, and the have a spectacular Ocean view. We don't really need that again, just don't want to be facing traffic, I mean it is Cancun/vacation.
The 2 times we booked an ocean view we had a hard time holding the yoga poses required to actually see the ocean. I'm flexible for a big guy but it was hard to stand on one leg, lean at a 30 degree angle while holding onto the railing and drink my coffee and Baileys at the same time. We've had an ocean and sexy pool view the last few times we went but only paid for a garden view because we requested a room over Paty'o's. Sure it's loud until 2 but we're up until then anyway and by the time I stagger to bed I'm drunk enough that I don't care. Plus earplugs Once you've experienced a TTR vacation you'll understand why veterans say the room doesn't really matter all that much.
