Its been a mess. I've been on the phone with 3 different ones today (after a 30 minute wait each time). The first 2 were horrible with no info, and the last one had some decent info or was bullshitting me. I was trying to figure out why they hadn't charged my card for the upgrade to expedited/overnight delivery earlier in the week. According to this last guy, it's in the final stages of processing and that expedited isn't necessary, but they have my card info and travel dates and will charge me the overnight fee if they think there is a chance that it wont get to me in time. He said it will make it in time.... we shall see!
They told me the same thing about the expedite fee not going thru. At least they are using the same story.
No it must be true, no way the federal government could come up with a b.s. line and workers remember to use it. The federal government is not that organized. Sounds about right, one out of 3, are willing to help. Yes, call your senator or house member. Worked for me on a tax return mess.
Well, it got better for me. Wallet got stolen on the 4th.... YEAH!!! Plus side have a friend who's mom works in the Senators office. Going to push the passport for me.
Ouch! Well glass half full, you can only go up from here! I actually jumped on here to see if you heard anymore. I just checked the status of mine and it was sent out today. No charge for expedited processing or overnight delivery. Hopefully that means yours will be the same in the next few days. We can cope from the stress of all if this with drinks at the sexy pool soon!:daveandmo:
FYI: you would have to go to Houston, not Dallas. In Houston you can get your passport same day, but you have to have an appointment and be prepared to wait ALL DAY!!!

My contact told me today that there is an issue with the photo, so just got done taking new ones and overnight them to the processing center. If that fails, I'll be in Houston the 8-10th. Don't have an appointment, and can't seem to make one using the standard system. They are making appointments 10 days out. Any suggestions there?
Just found out that Heathers passport might not make it in time Called a couple of days ago to expedite and check status, the first person wasn't real helpful like Zak & Kristin mentioned but the last one we talked to gave a glimmer of hope. We leave on the 15th early morning so we still have a few days left. If this goes though we are going to buy everyone drinks! :wink3:
I would just keep following up with them. It was so hit and miss, depending on the person you got on the line. Watch your bank account as well. If they haven't processed your expedited fee, then there is a good chance that they think it will get to you in time without charging to expedite it. Did you specifically ask if there have been any stumbling blocks (picture, etc)? They were able to look that up, and confirm on mine that there were no issues. Maybe in 10 yrs, we'll all send them in a little earlier and not put it off so long (even though we all know that won't be the case :wink3
