Yep you guys are correct - It is official - all rooms in our groups block at the Hotel Monteleone are in fact taken.......it happens every year :) there is nothing quite like it and its no surprise all have been spoken for

    NOW some good news :)

should you still want to attend the weekend long event...........you have a couple of options...........

option 1 - check in with the hotel and let them know you want a room and that you understand that our large block of rooms have already sold out, but that you still want to get a room anyway........its more expensive than the rooms in the block but hey you can still stay at the hotel and be front row and center for all the festivities of the weekend...............

option 2 - check into another hotel nearby....several people are staying at other hotels in the area and attending all the events all weekend long.....

everyone c'mon there is still room at the inn :)

Wow glad we booked when we did! This will be our first trip. What should we pack to wear? Obviously, a monster/Halloween costume, what else though? Formal? Casual?
    Thanks!

Mostly casual, although some of the gals dress it up pretty good for the Friday night Meet n Mingle.

    june junkies :)

Curtis and Dawn have been and hopefully they will be back this year - such a great group of people coming down would be great to see them again as well as you guys :)

New Orleans, Cancuncare and a great cause to boot - the more the merrier :)

as far as hotels in the area go..........

everything in the quarter is close (in this area you do not need a car as its walking distance to practically everything in the CBD and the quarter. There are great hotels on Canal and all through the quarter.

I will let others chime in but if the Hotel Monteleone is full I might recommend The royal sonesta, or the chateau sonesta. The Hilton and Sheraton on Canal are good choices as well

More details on the schedule and times in the next few days

    but like bart said

Friday night is casual but the ladies do dress up a bit :)
Saturday is the parade - dress like the monster of your choice :)
Sunday brunch is causal as well

    think FUN :)

there are no strangers and you will hang out with everyone that goes - its just that kind of a deal :)

be sure and like us on facebook too

Ty for the info and i think i have found a hotel real close by that we may book...we have only been to new orleans one time and loved it and no doubt being there with all the fun TTR folks will be a blast...will think this over and see what we can agree and decide on.

Lisa and I love the "W" French Quarter. It's got a great court yard and is in a really good location.

We are officially booked!! We are staying at The Royal St. Charles. I hear it's pretty fantastic. There is a groupon special for it right now for those who couldn't get in at the Hotel Monteleone. I have never booked a room through groupon...here's to an adventure!

We have stayed at the Hyatt, Crowne Plaza, and Royal Sonesta. All of them are fine, and very close to the Hotel Montelone. If you are a Harrah's gambler, they are liberal with hotel comps also.

The groupon Jeff and Jill posted is a good deal (https://www.groupon.com/deals/ga-bk...otel-7-new-orleans-broad_c*59503591369_ap*1t1)

We stayed there for Mardi Gras this year--it's only two blocks from the Monteleone and has a fantastically friendly staff.

Other good options: The Sheraton on Canal, Four Points French Quarter--both are within two blocks of the Monteleone and run a lot of specials, so you could find some good rates.
