Any tips/tricks or experiences out there with recent US passport renewals? I sent everything in 5 weeks ago and it is still processing, with 2.5 weeks until we leave. I called the main number and added expedited service today, but still a little worried about it. Anyone know of any other super secret numbers I can call to get a move on it? Its going to be a sad day If we're sitting at home instead of the Sexy Pool in the 18th
You can go to the Dept. of State Passport Agency in person if your departure is within two weeks and you can provide proof (tickets)...I think the closest would be Chicago..and they require and appointment
Gotcha, I'll see how this plays out over the next week, but might have to run up there. Thanks for the information!
When I renewed got mine almost six weeks on the dot, but I wouldn't take any chance if your leaving so close
Thanks. I'm hoping since I added expedited processing today and overnight delivery that it should be fine. They already have everything, so its supposed to be completed in 8 days at the most. Fingers crossed
I once screwed up my passport and had to do the extreme expedited process. I got it in 2 days. It was also at a main facility in Manhattan but it was quick for me!
Got the same issue here. Me and the wife sent ours in within a week of each other and she got her's back in 2 1/2 weeks. Can't seem to get any answers out of the Passport office. Starting to get really nervous...
I completely feel your pain. If you were like me, then you probably spent 20 minutes on hold, just for them to relay the same information that you can find on their passport status website (which is that it is "processing").
My 18 yo daughter was denied a passport earlier this year. We was a week away from our trip to sea adventure so I called the state senators office and I had it in my hand in 2 days. If there is anything that has it hung up you an submit it electronically thru the case worker the senators office gets you. My daughters was she needed another form of ID her license and birth certificate wasn't enough. Email her high school transcripts with her picture on it and they accepted.
Like pulling teeth with these guys. May have to drive down to Dallas next week... You guys done any good? Best I got out of the hotline was that they were passing along the info and my phone number to the agency and they would call me if there was any issue. Yikes!
