We usually book our transportation with Lomas Travel when we are in Mexico, but think we are going to try USA Transfers this time (6/25-7/2) to try something new. It is $30 cheaper than Lomas.... but I must add, Lomas is always top notch, very friendly and so we have no complaints!!

    Transportation

    Taxi's are a risk....

We always use All Do Tours.
First class service, very clean Suburban or Escalade,
Waiting with name on sign or very little wait.

Last trip in May, we were greeted by their representative and he just walked right up to us and remembered our names.
We have to change flights frequently or are delayed. Drop them an email from the airport and they are right there waiting every time.
Very friendly, clean, fast service. Never had a complaint!!

    Fast direct!

    Always use them.

Many have said it and I cannot re-iterate more. USA Transfers is the best way to go.

psssh this year we got a shuttle from the airport.. they offered us 1 way for $17/person so $34 for the both of us and we had to get a taxi back to the airport and that cost us another $35 plus you have to tip or should at least.. next year we're pre-booking our transfer..

5 trips , 5 great experiences with USA Transfers. On trip number 4 one of the gals in our group dumped her purse in the van on the way to the resort (GP). A day in to the vacation she went to grab her Kindle Fire to read and it was nowhere to be found. After reporting it stolen and blaming husband for leaving patio door open while we are the pool, security came and tore the room upside down helping "him" look for it but it was lost. When they came down for breakfast and told us I asked “Was that in your purse when you dumped it in the van?” her face went blank, his went to frustrated… . On the return trip back to the airport the husband asked if by chance something like that was found. Sure enough they had it at the office. The driver dropped them off at the airport and ran back to get it. He would not accept a tip until he returned. The Kindle was returned, I will continue to use USA Transfers and share this story. We do however use a Taxi if we are splitting our vac between 2 different resorts TTR & GP its less expensive for just a trip down vacation row, and we are at the liberty of our own schedule as to when we want to make that change.

So just remember these 3 things:

    1. Always use USA Transfers to and from the airport
    2. Keep your purse zipped on the ride to and from the resort
    3. Making your husband give hotel security an unneeded tour on your sex toy collection makes for a funny story for your friends.

We have always done a Taxi and never done pre-planned transfer. What always kept us away from the USA Transfers was the time that they pick you up to leave was always 3-4 hours before our flight is what we were told. We weren't crazy about that at all. We would rather uses those few last moments on the beach before we go. All I have to do is go to the front desk for them to call us a cab. It has cost us about $30 to get there and $30 to get back that is for both of us. Never had an issue. The only time we had a issue was our first trip we booked an rental car here in the US and once we got to the rental place it was HELL!!! Never again will I waste my time or money doing that again. Needless to say, they jacked our rate up by $250 and wouldn't honor our booking, wasted 2hours. If your wondering, it was booked through Orbtiz for Firefly rental. When we got back to the US I called and they refunded our money. (that's a whole other thread!!)

I agree with hating the time frame they want you at the airport on the way back.. The shuttles and transfers always want at least 3 hours which is all our trips is just way too much time.. we left the resort 2 hours before our flight in May by taxi and still sat around the airport for quite some time..

We always hated that too but someone at TTR gave us some good advice on how to handle that next time...just fib on the time of your outbound flight...if its supposed to leave at 2 PM, just make it 3 PM when you sign up (I don't even think they ask for a return flight # to confirm anyways).

    Just a suggestion :)
