Well at least we had seats at the premier bar pretty much the entire time were we there. Much more useful then a chair for people like us
I agree the issue isn't so much about stealing it's more about pissing people off because they "saved" chairs. I'm sure if they looked in the trash they would have found them. Saving/Reserving chairs when 90% of the chairs are empty is ridiculous. Sorry no sympathy from me.
Can we bitch and moan about chair saving some more please, I never get tired of it. It's simple, if you really, really want a chair you play the game and if you don't care you don't play and take your chances. You don't complain about it, nobody's really listening anyway. You don't mess with people's stuff because then you're more of a jerk than you perceive them to be. You don't post endlessly about how horrible it is so that newbies think that paradise is less than it really is. Can we focus on the positives? After all, isn't that why we all keep going back repeatedly?
Well, in all fairness, the title of the thread pretty much set the negativity generator in motion. And the chair saving issue will never go away unless the resort bans the practice altogether and that would solve two issues right there.
Actually if more people do post about how stupid it is to save chairs maybe people will stop saving chairs If nobody saved chairs then "chair saver type people" could just sit in any of the 90% empty chairs when they wanted.
The thread was negative but it wasn't about chair saving, for some reason the chair saving zealots decided to make it their own. The simple fact is that there are not enough chairs around the sexy pool for everyone to get one and no matter what system they come up with people will complain because that's what humans do best it seems. if if there were enough people would complain about the exact location of the chair they got. I've never on any of my trips made a point to monitor whether or not people are using their chairs for some arbitrary amount of time or not. I go grab chairs on our way to bed and we use them on and off from about 10:30 on. If that bothers anyone it sounds like a them problem to me. Sometimes we don't grab chairs at all, maybe start off at the beach and wander over mid afternoon. On these days we find people we like to call "friends" and ask to throw our stuff under their chairs. Regardless I don't think the chair situation has had a big impact on our enjoyment of the resort and meeting people.
I think we become complacent and trust everyone... not sure about you guys but don't think if I was here in Canada would I leave my purse at the table if I went to the washroom.. I think we at TTR think everyone is like ourselves so if and when something is stolen not only are we shocked we get angry... who would do such a thing at Mecca..But reality is not everyone is like us and respects the place and people like most of us do. Sorry you shirts got stolen... But if we leave things lying around we take the chance that someone could take it... sucks but thats the way it is..
Guys, I think our best bet for getting a chair, table, or damn near anything else is to let the ladies lead. A friendly smile, no top, and a thong go a long way towards solving a lot of problems at the sexy pool. LOL. It's like the high pitch you know is coming, and yet I swing at it every damn time. I think yesterday I bought a new refrigerator.
I also wanted to add the a friend of ours was there last week and she lost and beautiful bracelet... maybe even diamonds.. she thought for sure it was gone.. but someone turned it into lost and found... So there are good people to...
