The topic of sickness is well documented and usually glossed over on here but it is a priblem . Without going into boring detail my wife now has late onset asthma from our recent trip this was brought on by the virus she contracted and spent 5 days in hospital. we explained to specialist the condition we stayed in and his response leave the air con on even though everything in the room will be damp as when you turn it off due to damp the room heats up and creates the ideal environment for viruses to grow . also when we went to a pharmacy in downtown he laughed and his words were Everyone gets sick at Temptation it is well known for it . So anyone wants to laugh it off as just a hazard of the holiday plz feel free to contact my wife and let her tell you her thoughts .
My best friend is a doctor and told me I more than likely got sick from the flight, 200 people with an enclosed recirculating ventilation system plus the dry air are the perfect ingredients for an air born virus. He is the one that advised me what to try and do to prevent it. there are other things besides airborne, ask a pharmacist but do something to try to boost your immune system, i was in the hospital longer than i was in Cancun !!!!!!
we have been twice and never gotten a cough or cold... we drink enough to kill anything that might get us sick haha
Done two trips, 21 days in all, no issues at all, nor aware of anyone else whilst we were there. Another 14 days coming up and again don't expect any issues. Now if we were going to Eygpt..........
Well my sickness was under extenuating circumstances, I was actually on a chemo drug when we made our first trip, so my immune system was compromised im sure. There was a blessing in it though, we booked a second trip 2 months later to finish what we started before I got sick. The second trip I was off the chemo drug (screw you cancer, I'm winning for now) and we had an amazing time.
I think the chances of getting sick are different for everyone...if you're the type of person that gets easily sick at home then odds are pretty good that you'll get sick at TTR. My wife and I have been there 3 times and have never gotten sick, but we do tend to have pretty good immune systems and rarely get sick at home either...
Been twice, had a fabulous time both times. Got Montezuma's revenge on the last day of the most recent trip (which was just two weeks ago) but no cough\cold either time. Brought Lysol for AC units, never used it because it was way high up on the wall. Couldnt reach it. Oh well. No Skeeter's or, bugs at all. Great time! Just do Vit c or airborne and probiotics and whatever happens....happens.
Thanks guys for all the input!! Really was wondering more about theme nights & what to wear? Do they change it up or keep it pretty routine?
