LOL, you do have the ability to make me laugh in the middle of a situation like this, where people are saying things that I might not particularly like, but they have the right to say whatever they want. I realize you have many friends on CCC, and venting through them can help a lot. I doubt most CCC friends have encountered the traumatic injury that you have. Joining a local VA or Wounded Warrior support group would put you in touch with people with a far better understanding and would relate to what you are going through. You seem to be encountering many replies that don't agree with you and either piss you off or set up unnecessary debate. Looks like you have enough stress, why keep creating more. jmo
Yes, understand completely. I was angry, and just sort of heartbroken that someone and they know they are would put me down, and say that I needed mental health, which I already get it. It just kind of got to me. I shared my experience, because I had written a previous thread about what was going on and how I was treated before I even went on my last trip this past April. I'm just going to chalk it up to this, and I hope this answers everyone's questions about why I was encouraged by "my friend "last night to write what I did about not coming back to Temptation.I love Temptation,there have been a lot of things that have been taken away from me, riding my Harley is one big thing that I can't do anymore. Once I get my prosthetic leg, maybe I can hop back on that sucker and hit the open road but to be told that you need to do this or do that out in the open from someone who does not have an MD. behind their name, it can get someone rawled up! But as one "brother" that sent me a message said "don't worry or let a handful of jerks stop you from coming to Temptation" to me, that advice was better than the VA shrink telling me to "just breath".. Once again I do apologize for people seeing me on the board in the state that I was in, I'm going to be a man and own up to the fact that it's stupid what did! I do have hope that this helps people understand why I wrote what I did, also had a dumb ass friend who was cheering me on, but I should not have listened to what he had to say, I will always look at Temptation as a second home, and all of you guys as my brothers and sisters. Hey I know all about not being able to do things like I did in the past. I developed and have been diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth disease as a result of chemo and very strong meds. It's permanent and incurable. It has robbed me of calf muscles. I now fall down very easily. Cannot stand still as my ankles are so weak. Will never hike, ski, wear high heels ever again. I get very tired walking, and lots of other things. But hey I am alive and otherwise healthy and ready for multiple margaritas and major nakedness when I arrive at TTR this Friday. Let's party.
Thank you for your input..actually there are people on here and they may have not had to fight in the war war, but have had to fight the war that was given to them!, I have encountered and made friends with people that have talked to me about their cancer, and having a Limb amputated, and losing their hair from chemo, and we relate to each other's problems. I'm not going to name any names I respect people's privacy, but everyone at one point in this lifetime will have a war to fight. It just makes me feel better, and I do pray that it makes them feel better to talk about it with someone that goes to the same resort, and considers that resort to be a second home ! hope that this helps you understand a little bit better..Also, I don't get pissed off at people expressing their opinions, I get pissed off at the ignorance that people throw in to those opinions when they don't know the entire story. Thank you for seeing my point. You will get ahead far better by talking to people that can relate to your situation, rather than posting to the general public that doesn't always provide a desired response.
You're crazy dude, but in a good way in April when we met at TTR, I said to myself" this is a good guy, Who says whatever the fuck he wants and doesn't mind if it pisses someone off LOL" to me, that is a good quality. To others, they may look at it as a bad quality! It's the way you say what I want to say, and a lot of others want to say.. I plan on coming back in the fall but I am not sure when yet. I have a TTR related wedding to go to in August in the keys. I will know more once I come back from this trip and talk to all of my crazy friends.
