Those of you that have read on my previous post that I went into Sheetz convenient store and got something to eat and TRIED, to get my beer, I had problems!. The kid that was behind the register, said that he saw me stagger when I walked in, and he refused to sell me a 12 pack of Corona. I showed him the place on My leg where I am injured, and it makes me walk with a limp" after my surgery, my below knee amputation, I won't walk with a limp. This kid who was on a a lil power trip, and even after being told so, didn't understand that people do get hurt in war.., and I tried to be a gentleman. But when you get me to the point of you acting like an ass about my service in the United States Army , the gentleman goes away! Long story short, the manager called me FINALLY !!about 30 minutes ago, and offered me free food from Sheetz in North Carolina forever , I think he just don't wanna be sued.He even said that he is sorry for the employee that did that to me"that has been fired" I can get as many Italian wraps or other food that I want FREE!I do love those Italian wraps!" It just kinda amazes me the length people will go to to not be sued ended up giving free food for life! so I guess it all pretty much worked out its not free beer, but I can definitely work with free food LOL.. I love all you TTR Friends!!!!!!! See you guys and girls in June and for Halloween Hell raisers in October love to you all,...AJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
and thanks for your service.... for us, we will hopefully be back in August ... trying to seal the deal with travel agent this week...
I like to think in my little mind he did it because he was embarrassed someone working for him would do that,, and it was the right thing to do,,and not the being sued part. Make for a better feel good story,,,, try to see the good instead of the Bad,, you will sleep better :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: :beer4: YOur 12 pack Cheers
Avoiding Lawsuit or not good to see a manager take responsibility for the actions of his employee and try to make it right. I wish people like that never existed, but Glad they took care of you brother.
Thanks bro.. I just wanted an " im sorry" but free food works good lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The reality probably is that he did it because he is grateful for your service and sacrifice and embarrassed by the employee. A lawsuit probably didn't come to mind. Most people are thankful for the dedication of our men and women in uniform in our country and those in uniform of our friends abroad, even though we sometimes hire people who are ignorant.
AJ: With all due respect, I’m going to spend a moment on my soap box. As a twenty-two year veteran, I am compelled to speak a hard truth and hopefully this is seen as the favor it is meant to be. You cheapen your service and your sacrifice by making a federal case over the behavior of a store clerk who mistakenly or not, denied you the purchase of some beer. As it is said, all gave some and some gave all. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I suggest a visit to your local VA hospital or get involved with Wounded Warrior Project.
