As a Brit myself I'll add a few comments. Temptation isn't really marketed in 'Europe', it is marketed in the UK. Over recent years counting maybe 15,000 people on the Boobs Cruise, from Europe we have had a few Germans, a few Dutch, a few Spanish, a few French and lots of Brits. All of the non Brit Europeans have had to jump through hoops and pay big prices to get there, no travel agents, few direct flights etc. I don't think the UK markets the resort any different to any other country - I have yet to see anything online from a UK company that suggests TTR is a full on anything goes sex fest. A travel agent, face to face, will tell you what they think they want you to hear to make a sale - just like anywhere else. Europe is a big place with around 50 different countries, each very different. The EU allows freedom of travel and residence within any country part of the EU. Because we are the best country in Europe it means that the UK now has many people from different countries living there and they bring with them their own culture and values that are often far different from traditional British ones. Some of them will go to UK travel agents to book their holiday, I'd wager the Polish guys you met now live in the UK. I think there was a bit of heat in this thread because us Brits get a little tired of being lumped in with the 'Europeans'. We are our own country and have little in common with the rest of Europe, despite much of it wanting to live there. Hopefully soon we will be out of the EU. Vote UKIP!
I don't know how I feel about this. I am Italian as well, and I can't remember the last time a dude did the side face kiss thing. I know exactly what you are talking about, but the last person I did this with would have been my grandfather when I was like 14 (he even eventually stopped doing it). Perhaps your family still is very traditional, but I feel like the generation that did that has passed. I would be a bit taken back if this was attempted in a pool, half drunk, in my bathing suit, with a dude.
LOL.. That's one time I NEVER do that! That would take me back if some guy did that in the sexy pool to me. It's usually when I get to know a couple and the guy KNOWS I'm straight or if we're bros and at paty o's. My family is very tradition oriented! If I see it makes anyone uncomfortable, I don't do it. To me it just means" I respect you" . A lot of times at paty o's, I'm not even the one that does the air kiss first.. People see I'm Italian and they do it on their own. Besides, it's usually a thing reserved for nice dinners, and after you know the guy is a stand up guy you can have a scotch with. Also, if I meet a girl or couple at the pool, and they tell me to find them at paty o's after dinner, I do the air kiss with both of them. It's a respect thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And to add to that, you mentioned tradition. My family is very old-fashioned in Italian ways, we still have Sunday dinners with the whole family, and my parents still speak italian quite often. I know some Italian, but that's one tradition that they hung onto "speaking Italian to each other" that I can't do. I guess it's just a force of habit that's hard to break. I don't do it to intentionally offend anyone, to me is just a part of my tradition and upbringing that I have held onto. Actually you would be surprised at how many Italians and non Italians still do that.A lot of people are flattered by it. but I can see how it could put someone off if they haven't seen it before.. So when I see you, a handshake it shall be "a respectful handshake" lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Handshakes are good. Lots of high-fives last trip. Hugs don't both me either, just keep them dude lips away, haha. Sunday dinners do rock, but we are starting to loose some of the smaller things we used to do. Both my grandparents passed away within the last 2 years, and without them things have changed. They spoke Italian to one another often, and I could normally figure out what they were saying. The 2 years of Italian class in high school were pointless. I have taken over the Christmas eve 7 fish though. However, I modernized it. cut out some of the traditional fishy fish (i.e. smelts), and replaced them with things like lobster, crabs, muscles marinara, and seared tuna steaks. We do it more like heavy apps in rounds, and only really sit for the spaghetti and clams.
Your a funny guy it's good that your trying to keep the tradition alive, that's always a good thing! Your just putting your own spin on it.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
