Aisha, in the Premier office told me that yes renovations are going to happen. The extent and time frame was still to be determined though. But, she did say that the name and concept are not going to change.
We bought in October and were told the same thing. It sounds like a positive thing to me as long as they don't close the place completely for an extended period of time.
This conversation took place last year 2014. Steve did reply back and noted this will be taking place 2016. Most likely the slow season but they will be building 8 stories on the far end of the resort. The rooms will be bigger and better with great AC units. Above the Buffet restaurant they will build a New Club for indoor activities and shows. I did hear they will change the swimming pools to be bigger. It is a very sad thing to hear that there is going to be a year with renovations with TTR. Who is going in 2016?
I actually sometimes wish the name would change. When I tell people Temptation, lots of them go "Oh i heard of the place" and smirk. I feel like saying, no you haven't heard of the place, you are just saying that cause you think you know what I am talking about, but you really have no idea. Might as well just call it "The orgy motel", and these people would have the same opinion.
Yeah I've never been a huge fan of the Tempation name myself, I liked Blue Bay Getaway better. The reason being what is the biggest gripe that is expressed on here about the resort? The groups of young guys. Now pretend that you are 21 or so booking a trip for you and your 10 best friends. You're looking on expedia and trying to decide on a resort. You flip through places like Secrets, Oasis, Le Blanc and then... Temptation??? Right then and there they are hooked and already thinking of the possibilities. It's like moths to a flame in my opinion lol!
So just leave it as TTR? Or change is always good, maybe the new name should be the Scratching Post? Better yet how about CHEERS!! Where everyone knows your name!
I think it's a shame that they lost the old name (Blue Bay Getaway) myself. But I think that there were some issues with other resorts in the Carribean using that name which weren't part of the same company. Oh well it's basically beating a dead horse to get too much into that conversation about the name anyways. :deadhorse:
