Bring an assortment of the little flavored bottles of Mio. Then you can order vodka waters and squirt in whatever flavor you want without all the sugar and such. Makes for legit all day drinking at the pool.

First time going next month so we are hearing about tipping so....What kind of tip are the bartenders expecting and do you tip all at once at the beginning of the day or after every drink? I hate carrying money when I'm drunk...lol

Not true but you should tip. You'll understand just how fucking hard those guys work when you get down there. I can't believe how many drinks they make an hour and keep everyone happy.

Tip well and often my friend. Also, send the topless missus to get the drinks, I think they appreciate it and maybe serve them a little quicker :) More studies are required lol

I honestly don't think they "expect" anything but we give them 50 pesos every few drinks, works out to about $15-20 a day probably, depending on the amount we're drinking that day.

They really do an amazing job, you won't mind tipping them.

Yea, convert to mexican money for tipping. The bills are waterproof so it makes it handy to carry in the pool. Leave it to mexico to have 'laundering' money down to a science!

Now I need a see through thong with a pocket for tip money...bummer. Other all inclusive resorts we have been to don't allow tipping.

    :D

The see thru part works wonders!

Seriously, they appreciate the tips and there is a tip jar there at the bar, but it's not required.

However, after you see them work as hard as they do, you'll WANT to give them a tip! They are wonderful and friendly and don't care whether you tip or not (at least they act like they don't care if you don't tip), you get great service either way. But I couldn't help myself and made sure I tipped them simply because of how hard they work.

You also pay a lot less to stay here than at some of those places that don't do tipping. Katie never has money in her bottoms, I keep it in my pocket. They all get taken care of as the days go on or she'll come grab some from me if she goes to get drinks. The bartenders at TTR seriously work hard for it. There are a lot of times we have drinks waiting for us even when they see our cups getting low. It's impressive.

Should tipping be done in dollars or pesos?
