Hi everyone! Brad and I are very excited for our first trip (and honeymoon) at TTR. we are heading down in May and while we hear the weather is normally great, my soon to be hubby is extremely fair skinned and burns in literally two minutes of sun exposure. We have tons of sun block ready to go for him but I honestly dont think there's enough sun block on earth to protect him from burning.(it's kind of crazy).. So my question is regarding shade/umbrellas around the sexy pool. We realize that chairs/real estate 'round the pool goes fast and can be hard to come by... So will it be even harder to find some shade while partaking in the festivities of the sexy pool? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to meeting all the May folks! Will be there 5/19-5/26!
Try to get the chairs that are against the wall by the bathrooms below the hot tub area. It is the mostly in the shade so they are not the most desirable ones to get. They also get the shade earlier in the afternoon..
You can hide in the shade by the bar pretty much anytime. Bar stools in the pool are shaded until noon or 1. Avoid the sun especially during the mid day hours. Just be really careful. We've seen a lot of people ruin their trip with a bad sunburn. And if you do a Boobs Cruise, a trip highlight, I'd probably bite the bullet and wear a shirt part of the time; nobody will care, especially on a guy.
I am fair skinned as well, the 1st year I burnt like a lobster, had to wear shirts the last few days, last year we pre-tanned at a salon, that really helped alot as you get a base tan, and use alot of lotion, reapply often while at resort. I never burnt for the 2 weeks last year. Get to a tanning salon immediately!!
I'm like the whitest dude ever. I was fine the whole trip until the Boobs Cruise. I got fried that day. My method was to have wife apply rub on sunscreen but I also used the aerosol on top throughout the day. Like every 30 mins lol. Works pretty good until you get drunk as shit on the Boobs Cruise and don't really think about much but butts and boobs. Good luck
Plenty of shade at the pool but you have to make it a point to TAKE ADVANTAGE of it because we all get a little drunk and wrapped up in the fun and forget.
Yeah, I would second the motion to get some pre-tanning done, even if it's just laying out in the yard. You WILL get burned in Cancun if you are not prepared. Sadly, shade is hard to come by near the sexy pool, unless you sit at the bar all day.
I second the wear a shirt on he Boobs Cruise the sun out on the oceans no joke. Seen many guys and girls get burnt and the rest of their vaca was shit
