Flip cup is a kick ass game. We went to Johns college reunion and while walking by a party house we were invited in for a game of flip cup, being newbies at the game we kicked ass. Not bad for old people...Blondie
Alright, so it sounds like people do already know the game and really like it. We add an extra level to it sometimes that we call survivor flip cup. After your team wins you can vote someone off from the other team, or bring someone back from your team has been voted off. But there is always the same amount of cups in play. So if the game started with 5 on 5, and it is 5 vs. 3, then 2 people drink twice. It is the best because when you are down to 1 vs. 5, and you win, and start bringing your team back, then end up winner, it’s awesome! So anyway after I posted this last night, I left work and started thinking on my commute. I remembered my college days at an engineering school, and what we did when we needed something we didn't have. WE BUILT IT! Ok so I have what, in my head, seems like a brilliant idea for something I can build partially ahead and bring with me. It will float high enough to be able to flip well, and we also will be able to use it for pong. One questions…Does anyone know if I can get them floating noodles down there? I feel like I remember seeing them across the street at the mart, but to me honest I am not looking for noodles when I am at TTR. This will be there May 9th, and I will just leave it there for everyone to use after.
Good idea Steve. Maybe check for a builder supply store in the area and buy a 4 x 8 piece of foam insulation board, cut it down and glue the scraps to the bottom to raise it up. Should be less than $15 to build. Will not hold anyone for body shots, but should serve your purpose. Looking forward to seeing your creation when we arrive in June.
Do you think that stuff is more buoyent then them water noodles? Yea the floating body shot table is a pipe dream.
Floating body shot table is simply a raft...haha. I think the noodles will work well, I was just thinking about what would work well for the flat table part. Lightweight and floats. I believe either the noodles or the board will work but 4X8 may be too big, so you will have scrap pieces anyway...probably 3x6 would be plenty. No complaints from me, just put your name on it as you deserve the credit for building it. "Donated by Scuba Steve 2015"
Ahhh I see what you are saying with the foam board. What I was thinking was to get multiple pieces of a lightweight wood, or maybe some type of plastic (like peg board). Have it in 2x3ft pieces that I can fit in my suitcase. Then using the holes in the peg board, or drilling my own, zip tie them all together so I end up with like a 2X9 flat board, tightly strung together. Then line the perimeter with the water noodles, zip tying them as well to holes in the board. This way it sits high enough above the water for flipping. I think an exploring session at Lowes will provide me what I need, and 9 feet long would easily be good for 5 on 5. Haha I don't really need any credit, but thanks for the thought Maybe we could call the Scuba Steve's Flip Cup Float...hmmm that's not very funny. I think someone can come up with something better than that.
One of the posters on ccc shipped the cornhole boards from Chicago. They have stayed around a long time. I brought both sets of corn hole boards from Chicago on two separate trips. Paid a little extra to check them like luggage, because they were oversize and weight. Fred
