When I get emails from long term members (due to another recent thread going to shit for no particular reason) stating they are tired of it all and wont be reading any more before their upcoming trip it is time to point out a few things. 1. I am the Admin and owner. I am the one who decides the rules, the standards of behavior and the one who deals with any trolls that can easily be identified from the multitude of 'troll catching tools' that Admins are provided with, and regular members aren't. 2. I don't care if you have zero posts or ten thousand, whether you joined an hour ago or ten years ago. No member has any higher status than anyone else. 3. Everyone has the right to post what they want providing it is within the rules on nudity/sexually explicit language and does not personally attack another person. 4. If you don't like a particular thread or a poster's attitude, leave it the hell alone - and definitely don't inflame it. Report it if it is really bad using the icon next to each post that looks like this and I will be alerted and deal with it. 5. I dont want to see any more amateur detectives calling people out as trolls simply by virtue of their low post count, recent join date or lack of avatar picture. None of these things makes anyone a troll. 6. I've said it before and not carried it through, but I am serious this time. We are all adults and should be able to police ourselves, but if people want to act like kids they will be treated like kids. From now on I will start issuing limited time bans (24 hrs to one week) to members who persistently take part in this kind of argumentative behaviour. It scares new people away, inhibits people from posting their thoughts, floods my inbox with messages and takes time to deal with. We can do without you. There will be no further warnings.
Steve - you and your team rock. We appreciate all you do here and ty for keeping this forum going!!!
Man, Steve's a really easy-going guy. For him to take this kind of action we must have really missed some idiotic stuff going on while we were away at TTR this past trip. As stated above, Awesome. I am very curious about troll-spotting tools available to admins, though. That just sounds interesting. Some sort of statistical analysis tool, maybe?
Sometimes Adults are worse than Kids... Its a Shame...Make No Judgement on Others and their thoughts.... WTHay!!! really.... Great Job and Kuddos to Steve and his Team..
