With all the negative stuff of recent in regards to singles, creepers etc etc etc on the forum we wanted to make a positive thread in regard to our recent visit to TTR . My wife has food allergies(wheat and dairy) she takes some of her own food with her on vacation so she can be certain she wont have stomach issues while away from home . She takes her own bread, pasta and pizza bases all gluten free . The positive is how accommodating the waiters/restaurant staff, chefs were towards her requests for them to cook a meal for her using her products . All she had to do is ask and it wasn't a problem . In particular was the manager in the buffet who organized the cooking and ziplocking of a whole box of her pasta for her to use for salads etc and also the Italian chefs who used the same pasta to cook her a delicious evening meal totally custom made not like anything on the menu just for her . Kudos and thanks to all involved that helped to make her meal experiences at TTR a pleasurable experience . :sunny:
I really wish I knew this...I'm gluten free and though it was tasty, I got very tired of salad, rice and grilled chicken after a few days! Good to know for next time though, so thank you for sharing! And to add on to the positive posts, I'd just like to say that Yvette is the best staff member ever!! We saw her almost every night at paty'Os and she remembered our drink orders (there were between 4-8 of us each night) and would show up with shots for 10-15 people each time she made her round--we didn't even have to ask for refills on anything because she was so on top of her game! Her level of service was top-notch but her personality was absolutely awesome and she made the atmosphere super fun. I would honestly go back JUST to see her!
I told my boyfriend he can leave me for Yvette. I wouldn't even be upset. Marshe, do you know if there's a way (besides submitting a comment on the TTR website) that I can directly contact management to praise specific superb staff members? I really want to make sure these individuals are recognized for their hard work and fantastic attitude.
Chris has been gluten free for several years now, not by choice and she's allergic to seafood. They have always taken care of here every time she goes. It's a running joke every year with the guy, and I'm truly ashamed I don't remember his name (I will learn it this year!) that runs the grill at night. He remembers her from year to year and she, on the first night, tries to explain to him (again) what her food allergies are and every year he plays dumb and makes like he thinks she wants to mix the seafood in with her steak or chicken, or whatever, all this while cleaning the grill to make sure there is no cross contamination and cooking her stuff separately.. It usually takes a few minutes before she actually looks down to what he is doing rather than what he is saying and she does the "awe geeezz" thing and goes to get her other stuff. Even before she knew her allergies, when she might get an upset stomach she would go in and ask them for something plain and simple.. a chicken breast just flayed and they would agree right away and then suggest some plain rice with butter on the side and before you knew it have a whole plate dressed out of just right food for her. If you ever need something different for whatever reason, don't hesitate to ask, they are more than willing to bend over backwards to make sure you have what you need! Jamie
