The boat's staff will bring around drinks on a tray, and you'll just grab what you want - your choices are tequila shots, orange shit, pink shit or beer. You won't be handing your mug to a bartender and ordering what you want like at the resort. Mugs, more often than not will just wind up falling into the water...and you won't be using them anyway. It's just easier all the way around to drink from the cups that the bartender makes them in. We had a backpack and just clipped a strap around a railing near where were dancing. You could keep it down below as well. There are about 90 people on board, and limited space, so the less you bring, the better.
