We'll be there 8-21 and have never been. We have not met anyone who has been to TTR either but we were searching for our first trip to Cancun and found this awesome place. The people seem very welcoming and like tons of fun. This forum sold us.
Something we got caught out on in 2012 when we first visited TTR. We done Chichen Itza and going down town and bought Lots of souvenirs because we thought it would be cheaper. HOW WRONG WAS WE!!!!!!! First of all we ended up paying an $80 fine at the airport because our bags were to heavy, then we found out the shops at the airport (which were brilliant) sold exactly the same souvenirs for the same price........ DOHHHHHHH. My advice, wait to buy your souvenirs at the airport and carry them on as hand luggage.

Whew!!!! Latest update done.. added 23 people in 5 days.. getting busier now. Anyway, we're up to 452 folks now... and the party continues to grow!!!! Happy to see all the fresh me.. I mean newbies coming! Always fun to see inhibitions melt away for the first time. Happy to see more of the regulars coming back too! Wish Dale and Terri would come back. Anyway.. I promise to try and do more timely updates as we go forward.. Jamie
