If we get offered the bump we will probably take it . We have talked and looked into going to Desire several times but the cost holds us back . We are more than comfortable with the clothing optional option and have been to nude beaches in Cuba so that's a non issue for us as well . We will let ya know if we get the bump and how it all turns out . Roll on Tuesday 3.30am ....cant wait .
I really wanted to answer Trish's original question and got carried away. I have never met you but I have seen your posts. You seem to be the type of person that brings the party. With that thought I think you would enjoy it. Everyone is friendly and looking for a party. You said you liked relaxed sexy and freedom. That is a great way to describe Desire. After 1 am the place is quiet but there is nothing stopping you. Try a split vacation next time. The only way to know for sure is to dip your toe in the water. Scottydog, this thread is about being bumped. Both resorts are better in their own way. I too am in sales. If I can sell you best for the price of good, I would be in salesperson heaven. The hell with better. To each his own.
Nobody actually goes to "bed" at 1:00 a.m. at Desire... it's actually a later crowd at Desire when we were there... but you may have to go into someone room to get that. Hot tub stays active until late night, etc.
I get it...but if Temptation and Desire were exactly the same price...we'd chose Temptation every single time. A travel agent (if they still even exist) who sold us Desire over TTR wouldn't be in salesperson heaven...that travel agent would have failed because they sold us what someone else wanted. A salesperson's job is to sell to the customers needs...not their own or some other customer. That's why we wouldn't take the bump. What's better...a truck or a minivan or a car? It depends if you're a guy who needs to haul wood..a mom of 5 who needs to haul kids...or a sales rep who needs something to hit the road. A salesman who sells the mom the truck or the little Mini Cooper didn't do his job...it doesn't matter what the price was. It's just a fun discussion from differing points of view...the word "better" is always a hot button for me. On a really cold day in Wisconsin, a fun discussion on Cancuncare is better than being outside.
I think all Al and Kim is saying is that the drinks, rooms and food are of higher quality at Desire. If you like the crowd and party better at TTR than Desire you should go to TTR. We are doing both this year. We are splitting or time with both resorts. The drinks food and rooms will be nicer at Desire but we want to party some with the TTR people too!
Damn, a honest salesperson. I will take two of what you are selling. I agree with you, different needs for different people. We are in different times in our lives. After sending the kids though college and paying off the mortgage we are looking for higher quality because we can. But, we don't want to let go of the party inside. I don't like another "B" word, Brrrrr!
Not sure why people think there are no party people at Desire RM. Our motto is "dance like no one is watching" because we love to party. We have never been disappointed with the patio/lobby bar, disco and hot tub at Desire. Plenty of dancing and socializing...not a snooze-fest at all. Plus the disco is air conditioned! We are beach people at TTR and Desire so I can't speak to the daytime activities at the pool at Desire...with the exception of the foam party. In the past four months, we've experienced the foam parties in the pool at both Desire and TTR. Both were great but the one at Desire, well, it was a bit more interesting!
gets even more complicated if you add value for money into the equation. Thank God every one has different tastes, otherwise the resort would be sold out all the time. Here,s to different tastes :daveandmo:
We really enjoy the different aspects of each. We will be at TTR next month and Desire for Halloween for the fifth time. While the partying not as wild during the day as others have said the party goes on later. And more people tend to participate in theme nights.
We got bumped for 7 nights at Christmas at Desire RM. Next Year, we will do the 1 week at Desire and 1 week at TTR. As Desire ar smaller resorts, the partying really depends on the guests present when yo are there. I can tell you, the New Year's people where party people! What I like about Desire, is you can relax or party as much as you want without felling guilty. Desire being Clothing optional, TTR could not force guests to move there, since it is not the concept of TTR
