We lucky as we as I am a DJ we go to a house music festival in Spain every sept. Its only small on 600 people but full of other Dj's and party people. Its a week of partying with fun people who know how to have a good time we so lucky we have this as well as TTR
The next big questions after IF it closes for a major renovation is, How long? It is a Mexican remodel operation, and from the construction jobs I've watched here they don't seem to worry too much about time frames. Then the big question will be HOW MUCH is the new TTR going to cost guests? IF they try to go upscale with a big price increase to put them on par with other Cancun resorts a lot of the current, fun-loving crowd may not return. They will either be priced out of the market, or they'll go someplace with a real beach and closer to the rest of the action. It's a very risky endeavor to close at all for any length of time.
Unfortunately Westin Regina was one of the hardest hit by the hurricane. May be some time before they're back up and running. The projected date as of now is July first.... But they have pushed back the date numerous times now so it's definitely subject to change.
It would be just our luck to have TTR, after renos, price themselves to high to make sense. We have been to a couple of the sexy adults only resorts in Jamaica, but even before they renovated, and re branded, they were pricey, now they are just stupid. I just can't justify it. Anyway, a sexy vibe party is what we enjoy not just PDA's happening all over the place. Hey, we are getting older, but are trying to fight father time the best we can. Just took quite a while to convince my wife to go to Mexico, period, but once I did, it was no question it would be TTR. Travelled to DR many times for vanilla vacations, and would have to say Ocean Blue is our favourite. Hopefully TTR will stay reasonably priced post renos, so our first visit will be the start of something good!
Tied for 2nd Place, Silver Medal, White Ribbon, whatever. A. Desire RM - Naked vibe place, very sexually-charged romanticism between you and your hotness (lady or guy), good theme nights with GREAT nightly participation in the themes (I have never, even in the teenaged wet dream years seen so many Naughty Schoolgirls strutting around as at Desire!!), food is just excellent, some of the best eats at a resort ever. Beach is very nice, natural state but with those fantastic palapa beds you can grab a quick nap or shag on in the middle of the day, rooms are pretty good. Hot tubbing naked with 40-60 of your newest close friends is a very good time, just sayin'... B. Grand Case Beach Club, on St. Martin -- Unfair, sort of, as I consider the entire island as the destination, with the staying at GCBC, getting to go over and enjoy Orient Beach's nakey-time, the Perch for nakey-time bar drinking with other similarly nakey-time folks. Grand Case's eateries are some of the best I've ever been to.... really nice, relaxed laid-back island vibe, but not in the passive-aggressive way of.... say... Jamaica.
Where in Spain is this house festival mate might have to go love a bit of house and having a mad one.
There's a tiny little family run hotel close to PdelC that we are going to for a long weekend to unwind, relax, and detox after our 7 nights of party fun at TTR . It only has 6 rooms , the owners treat you like family , the food .....well you just have to try it , the hospitality is wonderful . Its the perfect place for us to wind down before heading home after TTR . this will be our 3rd visit to this hotel so that tells you how good it is . As for 2nd fave resort . theres a resort on Holbox island that we have been to twice ........its simply stunning . Villas Paraisio Del Mar .
In the Cancun area... 2nd is Desire RM because we get romantic and party at the same resort. 1st is Live Aqua. We starting visiting this resort before it was adults-only and all- inclusive. Beautiful beach and accommodations. 3rd is Temptation! I know the OP only asked for the second favorite but I had to get Temptation on our list. Best party with the friendliest folks we've ever met. It may be surprising that I did not list it as #1 based on our number of visits and participation on this forum. We love it, but we love other resorts in Cancun and different parts of Mexico as well! Temptation is our go to for a 4-5 night stay but sometimes we want a different flavor for a holiday in Mexico. We love resorts around the world for different reasons and will continue to explore. But once we found it, a year without a visit to TTR will be a year we go through serious withdrawal! Not looking forward to the renovation shut-down... (Mrs.) Dreamers
