I've heard from a few people that during the week that we've booked at the resort, TTR is sold out. I always worry about being bumped to another resort, but is it worth it, if we're offered Desire? I know the facilities are better, but for those that have been bumped up to Desire, is it worth it? Outside of the 'heightened sexy' options, what are the real differences? Of course I like the idea of better facilities, food etc. but I like the TTR crowd and not sure I'd fit in at Desire. I'm intrigued about the relaxed sexual ambience, and it sounds like there's more freedom in that way to be had, but worried that I'd be seriously bored if everyone goes to bed at 1am. What's it really like?
To be totally honest Trish, I don't think it's for you. You're too young, the days at Desire are VERY quiet....there's nothing there that would phase you, I just think, like you say, you'd be bored..... .....send us instead...!! :daisy:
As a new traveler, could somebody please clarify something for me. I understand why a hotel or resort that allows some kind of cancellation option would overbook... to ensure all rooms are full (although I still think it's wrong)... but I'm not understanding why a place such as Temptation would overbook. Are not all of their rooms paid for in advance with a NO REFUND policy. If so, there shouldn't be any reason to overbook should there? I mean, if somebody doesn't show it shouldn't matter to the resort, as they still get paid. I'm assuming I'm missing something. The only thing I can think of is that they overbook hoping some people won't show (but they still keep the money) and then they can place other people in the room and charge again, thus getting an extra nights fee for the same room. Now, just to clarify, I'm not insinuating that Temptation does this, I'm just not seeing any other plausible explanation... but maybe I am just overlooking something simple and just need a slap on the nogg'n... if so, could somebody please give me that slap... well maybe not on the nogg'n... how about somewhere else
We have been bumped to a great room but in all honesty we did not enjoy the resort. It has a totally different vibe, more laid back and we love the crazies and spring break attitudes at TTR. I felt bad at the pool in the evening when the girl struggled to get anyone to participate in a dance competition, hell at TTR it would be a race to get in. I'm not sure if the people were to cool to participate. The resort was very nice but just not us.
i think the issue pops up from time to time when people are booking using agencies such as orbitz, expedia etc etc. They buy up room blocks and resell them. However I think that the system may occasionally sell too many of these rooms at time leading to overbooked conditions. Fortunately this doesn't cause too many people problems.
They don't bump you unless you want to (it's a voluntary thing), they do over book but I haven't seen or heard anyone getting forced to go to the different resort. Although, we did take the bump and we were very skeptical about leaving all the party and our friends that we were having a blast with and go to a totally new resort that we had no idea about (they asked we said yes and than we went on boob cruise fortifying our room and leaving luggage with the front desk, to be picked up after the cruise and go to Desire Pearl). But once we got there we were totally into it, it is very much upscale and a different vibe. It totally depends on the crowd, little bit older couples but all in party mood\mode we had a great time at Desire and we had a blast at TTR. They both are very different in many different ways, I think you should experience both and than compare.
